This damn comic strip makes me bawl like a baby every single time I read it

I do really like stories like this that are just an absolute nightmare scenario for the Doctor and their companion(s). I'm a big proponent of the philosophy that beating the hell out of your characters is how you get some of the best character moments and this serial does not disappoint.

Five sacrificing himself to save Peri at the end was incredible and heartbreaking, and you have to feel a bit horrible for Peri because then she has to put up with Six for the rest of her tenure as a companion, and that probably weighs very heavily on her.

It is absolutely hysterical how bad Ten and Donna are at being fake married. The one time they try to play into their old married couple vibes and everyone thinks they're a couple on the brink of a nasty divorce.

Donna commits so much property damage in this it's insane. I also love how darkly hilarious it is that Donna's trying to get over essentially losing her husband and children and Sylvia's solution is to send her to speed dating. This whole thing also really gives us a good look at just how deranged a lot of the stuff Donna finds normal now actually is. Nat is delightfully normal and pleasant and is just constantly blindsided by Donna's antics and her complete and utter disregard for normal behavior. It's delightful.

I'm not sure how to quantify the emotions this audio made me feel, but the reveal at the end got me feeling some type of way and it really does explore one of the aspects I find so interesting about the Doctor and their companions: the way the companions are often the grounding force of the Doctor's morality, and how oftentimes they are given that enormous responsibility of keeping the Doctor in check without even realizing it.

I LOVE stories where the Doctor has to reckon with his own capacity for evil and this just hit every single button for me.

I'm never going to be over this one I think. It's got all my favorite things: evil doppelgangers, the Doctor and Donna Going Through It, weird body horror, and some genuinely terrifying moments. David and Catherine are so good at playing terrifying villains.

Review of The Devil’s Chord by illyriashade56

It's silly, it's chaotic, and it's exactly my kind of trash. Well, better than trash, bit like a raw gemstone.

There's a lot that could have been better about this episode but it gives me severe brainrot so I don't care too much about that.

Far and away one of my favorite Big Finish audios because it's just so damn funny. It had me cackling at some points.

There are SO many good moments in this book, but Donna calling Ten her personal fool and him being so upset about pretending to be a jester was so so funny. They're so stupid, godbless.

Also I think someone should tell Ian he looks like Lancelot.

Review of Doctor Who: The Giggle by illyriashade56

I am a sucker for funky formatting and this was so much more fun to read than the episode was to watch. I thought the episode was pretty decent but it lacked some of the fun that this has.
