In which I feel just as confused as Jamie for 90% of the story

One of the best serials I have seen so far. We finally get to see the origin of the Daleks, and are introduced to Davros, their creator. The Doctor seems to kind of fail in this episode, which is unusual

The Time Lords basically hijack what he is doing to send him on an errand to stop the creation of the Daleks, but he is very unprepared for this. Both the Kaleds and the Thals are working against him at various points of the story and in the end he only manages to delay the creation of the Daleks.

Davros is really what makes this episode shine. Through Davros we see why the Daleks are so hateful, as well as their other mannerisms like lack of mercy and way of speaking. Davros appears to die in this episode, but I expect we will see him again

This episode introduces Donna Noble, who won’t be a companion for a while but has a one off adventure here. The Doctor is attacked by evil santas once again, and fights the Empress of the Racnoss, who seems to have a thing for corny jokes

We also get to see the Tardis in a car chase, as well as messing around with Huon particles. Overall this episode is just a really fun watch

This is not war, this is pest control!

Finally we get to see a showdown between Cybermen and Daleks. The trash talk between the two is one of my favorite scenes in the show, and the Cybermen are clearly outmatched there and physically.

This episode brings back a lot of ideas from the last couple seasons, like the touch of a time traveller, travel between universes, and meeting alternate family members. Mickey has turned into a total badass, though not badass enough to be taking out daleks yet. Alternate Pete and our Jackie meet and decide to marry.

The Doctor manages to solve the crisis in a way that makes sense for it to work, despite how brutal this situation is. Rose is separated from the Doctor as the rifts between universes are closed, saved by Pete who somehow knew she was falling. It’s a sad ending for Rose (for now), and they twist the knife by not letting the Doctor finish his last words to her

Great part 1, we finally get a look at Torchwood. Fun antics with The Doctor and Jackie while Rose and Mickey investigate this sphere that doesn’t exist

The cybermen returning is a huge threat because of their numbers, and the reveal of Daleks at the end is a great cliffhanger

A slow episode for sure, the concept of a child vanishing people by drawing them is pretty cool though. Council dude is the best part of this episode

I think this episode actually has a really strong opening half but the moment the Absorbaloff shows up it just stops being fun, and the ending is pretty unsatisfying

Very weird story

Not a lot happens in it, but the ending is so bizarre

Nice short story, it’s cool to see how the Doctor reacts to an alien that just wants to trade

Jo Grant wanders off as usual, though for once it actually puts her out of danger

Its a pretty good approximation of how FUBAR the earth is at this point
