Review of The Other Side by Jonathan_

3 May 2025

This review contains spoilers!

The one Adam story, its alright

This story does feel like a S1 story, with The Doctor again dealing with the fallout from the Time War, this time getting separated in time from Rose and Adam. We get to see how Adam acts on adventures. It's more of what we saw in The Long Game, with him being too scared when he needs to do something and too reckless when he doesn't

Review of Shadow of the Past by Jonathan_

Great story, does a good job of showing how Liz saw The Doctor and The Doctor's attitude towards his situation too. Pretty cool revel and enemy as well

Review of Echoes of Grey by Jonathan_

Finally I finished the memory loss arc, out of order which made it more confusing than it could have been

This part was really good, imo it's a better version of New Earth from 10's run. And finding out what happens before the other stories was pretty satisfying as well

Review of The Cold Equations by Jonathan_

2 May 2025

My perception was kinda skewed on this one since I already listened to The First Wave so I already know what happened and what the secret was. This story does have a lot going for it in itself as well though, the setting and the way Steven describes and solves the problem was great

Review of Backtrack by Jonathan_

Great story.

Has a lot of the stuff I love about 10 and Martha’s adventures. The Doctor collides with what is essentially a Time Cruise Ship that is run by someone very incompetent. In a way it’s like Voyage of the Damned meets Carnival of Monsters.

This story has some cool moments but it’s just boring for the most part

Neat story.

The plot is nothing special but it’s nice to get the perspective of the Brigadier

Review of Terror of the Zygons by Jonathan_

30 April 2025

Great episode. The costumes and story were even better than usual in this one I think, the Zygons are terrifying and their plan is pretty diabolical.

I guess if I had one criticism of this episode it's that they could have used the shape shifting more, it kinda stops being relevant the longer the story goes on. Then again I went in already knowing what a Zygon is so maybe that's unfair

Review of Fear of the Daleks by Jonathan_

30 April 2025

This review contains spoilers!

I don't understand the hate for this episode, I really enjoyed it.

First half was definitely better, but this has a lot of cool moments in it (like honestly just the conversation between Zoe and the President about their respective planets was great and exactly the kind of conversation I'd want to have if we found aliens)

The Daleks' plan is pretty threatening and they are suitably intimidating in this story.

I guess my only complaints about this story is that it feels a bit longer than it needs to be, especially near the end, and it might be a bit out of character for Zoe to be as scared as she is of the Daleks

Review of The Perpetual Bond by Jonathan_

29 April 2025

This review contains spoilers!

This episode is alright, not a ton happens in it but it’s a decent setup.

The Doctor and Steven are still getting over the death of Sara, and they encounter aliens selling off human slaves. The doctor seems to side with them for a while which stresses out Steven and the new companion Oliver.
