I am not a big fan of it, in many ways do I find this one falling into similar Traps like some of the worst Outings of Titan. Yes, it’s fun to have a very celebratory Story from Time to time, get all those beloved Characters in! The framing Device is a nice one and one that does make it much more fun than just say have all those Incarnations in the same room. The Stories itself varied. Some of which I enjoyed more than others, but I must admit I was a bit left cold by it for the most Part, like yeah the Ending with Susan is touching for sure, but also just a bit.. Odd? Like I do like the Concept of this Shape-shifter type Character, and it does do for a lot of fun, but at one point it just kinda starts to feel like: “Oh well who else can we throw into the Ring?” I would lie if I didn’t say that I had some Enjoyment with it, but I also would lie if I said I can see why this one has such a high average rating. There are enjoyable Parts to be found here, but when we get to the Point of the Metacrisis Doctor who is now the Valeyard, it all just becomes kinda silly to me. Much like the first IDW story, this is very long, but they do a much better job of marrying up the episodic stories with the overall arc. It is constantly going “remember this?” so probably wouldn’t be a good read unless you have a PhD in Doctor Who. The extended universe has many, many examples of multi-Doctor celebrations that do a lot of looking back, as far as they go this one is good and gives each Doctor a moment to shine. The iterative nature of the story though means that there isn’t a compelling plot to follow or anything like that. 15thDoctor View profile Like Liked 2 Open in new window Statistics AVG.
