Blood of the Daleks Part 2: 8.9/10 - This was a very enjoyable and well done finale to the first story of the Eighth Doctor adventures. I really liked the Daleks in this story and thought the Daleks vs Daleks concept was particularly good here. Martez worked really well as a villain truly believing in their actions. Klint and Tom were good side characters here as well and it was nice getting to know them more after the first part. The Doctor and Lucie's relationship is also fleshed out more here which was really nice and the dynamic between the two is very good! The two cliffhangers, the Telos mention and the call between the headhunter and Mr. Hulbert are good at setting up intrigue and I am excited for where this goes from here!

Review of Blood of the Daleks Part 1 by Trench16
Blood of the Daleks Part 1: 8.5/10 - I really enjoyed this as a first experience with the Eighth Doctor on audio. The Doctor here was really interesting and although I haven't listened to the Charley stories, I can truly see how the Eighth Doctor is in a hard spot. Lucie was a really interesting companion and her arrival, although being abrupt, makes me interested in who she is and why the Timelords sent her with the Doctor. The Daleks here are very threatening similarly to Power of the Daleks where they mischievously pretend to be good. I like the side characters with Martez being a really cool villain. The plot also flows nicely as well with a lot of good dialogue and a pretty good cliffhanger.

Review of Broken Hearts by Trench16
Broken Hearts: 9.3/10 - Yet another really emotional and powerful story. I really felt for Valerie in this story and really enjoyed how her and the Doctor mended the relationship at the end. The setting, being a planet where the weather is determined by the emotions of its denizens, was the perfect idea for this story and channels Valerie's feelings into the plot of the story. The B plot, following Augustus and Lionel the robots, was really touching and I liked the twist of Augustus being the one in the tornado, even though the story makes that twist clear as you listen. In the end, I really enjoyed how the Doctor and Valerie’s relationship was handled and showcased a new dimension to the Doctor/companion relationship that we haven’t seen before.

Review of Curiosity Shop by Trench16
Curiosity Shop: 8.9/10 - This was a very emotional and heavy story that succeeded extremely well while having a very unique approach to a Doctor Who story. Starting off, I think Jacob Dudman was absolutely amazing here and did great impressions of all of the Doctors here. Safiyya Ingar however gives one of her best performances in the range so far with such incredible emotion in this story. The plot was very good with some great dialogue from all three of the main characters. The main strength of this story is how it gives more depth to the Doctor/companion relationship that we don't see as often. The end of the story is incredibly bittersweet and a really interesting way to finish a boxset. I also really liked Gollas and found his relationship with Valerie very fascinating.

Review of The Yearn by Trench16
The Yearn: 8.8/10 The Yearn is yet another fantastic story in this range that has a few more issues than previous stories but still performs amazingly. Starting with what I loved, Valerie and 11 were yet again amazing and the chemistry between the two is great. The supporting cast here was pretty good but Roanna was amazing. The interactions between her and Valerie are amazingly written and are very poignant. I liked the Yearn a lot and thought they were interesting but was honestly a bit confused when it came to the explanation of what they were. Aside from that, the “trapped inside a base” concept is fairly typical but is done well here which I like a lot.

Review of The Tenth Planet by Trench16
The Tenth Planet: 9.4/10 - This story is so good. The Cybermen are already a massive threat and their presence is huge. I love the characters here and the way they interact with Cutler. I think these Mondasian Cybermen are one of my favorite designs of the Cybermen and in this episode I love them. Their speaking patterns and the fact you can see the human eyes in the suits makes them way more creepy which I love. The buildup to the regeneration is also really cool and I think that the story being mostly contained to one building gives it a nice cramped feeling that helps add to the atmosphere of the story.

Review of The Smugglers by Trench16
The Smugglers: 6.8//10 - The Smugglers is a story with a fascinating premise but not the best of executions. I really like the Doctor and his heroicness in the story is really cool. Ben is a very skeptical companion which I like and reminds me of Steven in the Time Meddler. Polly also is good in this story and I think she’ll end up being one of my favorite companions. The villains and side characters are both decent with Kewper being my favorite. I also like the slight connection between this serial and the Curse of the Black Spot.

Review of The War Machines by Trench16
The War Machines: 9.3/10 - Wotan is simply a great AI villain. The concept of an Ai villain back then was very new and the way it’s executed feels really nice. Ben and Polly are both good characters and I’m interested in seeing how their characters develop. The major weakness of this episode is the way that Dodo is written out. She simply leaves and we get no explanation for it. Another downside is the sounds that the War Machines themselves make which can end up being really annoying similarly to the Zarbi.

Review of The Savages by Trench16
The Savages: 9/10 - The Savages is a really good depiction of class warfare and uses that plot to tell a fascinating story. I think the characters are all really good with Jano being my favorite. Jano’s depiction of the Doctor works really well. The scene with the Savages in the cave, wary of Edal is really tense and interesting. Stevens departure is a really sad one but ultimately its nice to see a companion not just leave the Tardis, but work to make a society better and improve a world.

Review of The Gunfighters by Trench16
The Gunfighters: 8.7/10 - The Gunfighters was a story very different from most others I have watched so far. I really liked the plot, the characters, and the general vibes of the story. I think Dodo was great in this story and Steven was also good. The supporting cast was great and the Doctor also produced some great scenes. The main issue however, is the song. It’s fine in most scenes, amazing in the scene with Steven and Dodo performing it, and awful when its used as exposition such as in the version explaining the prior relationship between Kate and Ringo.

Review of The Celestial Toymaker by Trench16
The Celestial Toymaker: 7.9/10 - This story was nothing like what I was expecting it to be. For part 1, I watched the animation by Dinopuff which was absolutely amazing. The endlessness he gave to the setting and the emotion he gave to some of the characters was great. The Toymakers ruthlessness was really shown to the full extent in this episode and both companions were great as well. The next two episodes however, were slow at points but I think the writing was good for most of the side characters. The N word however was just an awful product of the times. Part 4 was absolutely great in my opinion with the final game having really high stakes and the Doctor having some good back and forths with the Toymaker. I also think this episode was the one that showcased the Toymakers villany the most.

Review of The Ark by Trench16
The Ark: 8.9/10 - The Ark was a very good story that really felt at home within the confines of Doctor Who. The first half with the plague was a nice story that felt similar to other stories like the Sensorites, but had fun with itself at the same time. The second half with the Monoid uprising was really cool and the hijinks with the bomb and the Refusions were interesting entities. Dodo as a companion was good in this story but didn’t have the same presence as similar companions like Vicki or Sara. All in all however, she was a good character and I liked her dynamic with both Steven and the Doctor

Review of The Massacre by Trench16
The Massacre of St. Bartholomew's Eve: 7.4/10 - This serial was very fun, albeit slightly confusing. I thought part one was a great set up with the characters all being interesting. Part two and onwards felt packed full of different characters and I sometimes couldn’t tell who was on which side as the backgrounds all seemed very similar which made it feel like it was the same set over and over. Steven was definitely the highlight here with he and Anne being a great partnership. The Doctor being absent for the majority of the serial felt right for this story and paved the way for Steven to become more independent. The Abbot of Amboise was a character that didn’t have much to do and that I wish got more screen time.

Review of The Daleks’ Master Plan by Trench16
The Daleks Master Plan: 9.4 - What a masterpiece. This story was absolutely epic. The first four episodes were great and Bret was a great semi companion. Katarina was a bit of an underwhelming companion however and her death was very anticlimactic. The introduction of Sara however was great and her devotion to Mavic Chen, and the eventual murder of her brother, was very dark. Sara was overall a fantastic character through the story and her death was sad. The Feast of Steven was a very weird episode but I actually ended up enjoying it. I also liked the Daleks in this serial and think that they still hold a threat even with their numerous appearances so far. Steven was another part of the serial that was very strong in my opinion. Mavic Chen was also a fantastic villain and we all knew of his inevitable downfall as no one can truly ally with the daleks.

Review of The Myth Makers by Trench16
The Myth Makers: 8.9 - This episode was another really fun story. I thought the whole plot was just a fun romp and Steven as well as Vicki were both really good. The trojan horse was simply great and the Doctor being fed up with the greeks bs was hilarious. I thought Paris was also a good character and his arc throughout the story was nice. Steven pretending to be a Greek was also great and the fights, although they are missing, were really good.

Review of Mission to the Unknown by Trench16
Mission to the Unknown: 8.7 - A story that really made me excited for Daleks Master Plan. The reconstruction done by University of Central Lancashire was really well done and felt very authentic to the times. The plot of the episode was also cool and the Daleks teaming with a bunch of other aliens makes me think the Daleks are going to betray them all. I thought that Cory was also a cool character and his death surprised me as I thought he would be a major player in DMP.

Review of Galaxy 4 by Trench16
Galaxy Four: 9.2 - Galaxy Four was, in my opinion, a great story. I thought it was another good story for the Doctor/Steven/Vicki Tardis team and all three had things to do and played a part in the story. The Drahvins were a really interesting species and their design, in both live action and animation, were really good. The Rills were also a cool species and the Chumblies were so cute. The animation was really well made and it was cool seeing the differences in set design between the live action episode 3 and the rest of the episodes being in animation.

Review of The Time Meddler by Trench16
The Time Meddler: 9/10 - I thought this episode was great! The first pseudo-historical of the entire show is surprisingly very good. The Monk was a great villain and was cool for being the first enemy timelord of the series. Vicki and Steven were really nice in this story and they seem to be a great companion team. Their story line actually benefited from the lack of the Doctor as the hijinks between the Doctor and monk was also very compelling. The setting for the story was also cool and the Monks plan to meddle with time because he thought he was right was also cool.

Review of The Chase by Trench16
The Chase: 9.5/10 - I have said this about a large amount of stories but this one was just so much fun. The Daleks were extremely entertaining in this story and the main cast really got to shine. Vicki was amazing in this story and her infiltration of the Dardis was really cool. The different settings really made it feel like a grand adventure across time and these locations themselves all felt very lived in. I thought episodes 2 and 5 were a bit slow at points but the other 4 episodes were all quality. The Mechanoids were an interesting new species and the battle between them and the Daleks was also interesting. I thought Steven was off to a rocky start in this story but he still seems very interesting and I’m excited to get to know him more. Ian and Barbara’s departure was honestly so great. They have both been absolutely amazing companions and seeing them so happy to return to their old lives was very wholesome.

Review of The Space Museum by Trench16
The Space Museum: 9/10 - This story was so much fun. The first part was an amazing mystery with some of the most interesting storytelling so far. The next three parts was an interesting tale of the Tardis team trying to change their predetermined futures and being able to. I thought Vicki especially was great with her interactions with the Xerons. Ian was also awesome as per usual and had some insane fighting skills

Review of The Crusade by Trench16
The Crusade: 8.3/10 - A very fascinating story. The first two parts were slightly underwhelming and didn’t grip me too much but by the time the second part came around, I was certainly hooked. I loved Ian becoming a knight and the story with Barbara was actually very interesting unlike some other damsel in distress stories. I thought Vicki was another fantastic part of this story and she definitely had a lot of great chemistry with William Hartnell.

Review of The Web Planet by Trench16
The Web Planet: 7.3/10 - This story was a big mixed bag. The first 4 parts were generally okay with some slow pacing but the 5th part was a complete slog. Part 6 was amazing though and was definitely the standout. The zarbi were VERY annoying with their constant beeping and the Menoptra were an interesting concept with a below average execution.

Review of The Romans by Trench16
The Romans: 9.2/10 - The Romans was a really great story. I loved the comedy in the story. The characters were great and Vicki is already entertaining as a companion. I thought the general topic of the slave trade was portrayed seriously and real. There were some faults of the episode, primarily the scene where Nero chases Barbara which has aged horribly, but overall I think it did well and was really good.

Review of The Rescue by Trench16
The Rescue: 9.3/10 - The Rescue was a fantastic serial. I was a bit apprehensive at first of a companion introduction being only 2 parts but damn did it work well. I honestly didn’t see Bennet being Koquillion and thought that plot twist was very good. The line where the doctor forgets Susan isn’t there was so precious as well. I also think the tension between Vicki and Barbara after Barbara kills the creature was nice. I think my only problem was the nonexistent explanation for the two people at the end who save the doctor from Koquillion but I can look past that.

Review of The Dalek Invasion of Earth by Trench16
Dalek Invasion Of Earth: 9.5/10 - it was amazing!!! The daleks were at their best in this episode and the pacing felt so good. I loved how the episode wasn’t afraid to get really dark at times (eg. Larry’s brother killing him). The speech at the end was amazing. The robomen almost feel like precursors to the cybermen. There are so many great things about this episode, but I don’t quite think it’s better than Marco Polo (my current favorite). I give this story 9.5/10

Review of Planet of Giants by Trench16
Planet of Giants: 8.7/10 - What a fun story! This was just a fun time and a really interesting watch. The thing that I loved the most was most definitely the set design as it really made you feel as though the characters were shrunk. The Doctor was a great character in this story and was really witty. I also loved seeing Ian care for Barbara and thought it gave good development to their relationship.

Review of The Reign of Terror by Trench16
The Reign of Terror: 4/10 - Well I just finished Reign of Terror. I didn’t particularly enjoy it. The best part was probably the twist with the bad guy turning out to be the good guy. I thought that was interesting. I also liked the costuming and Hartnell rocked his outfit. The rest of the story was very boring to be honest. I didn’t particularly care for any of the characters and the animation probably didn’t help with my opinion of it.

Review of The Sensorites by Trench16
The Sensorites: 8.5/10 - I thought the resolution of the story was a bit too fast paced but I really enjoyed Susan's role in the story. The Sensorites themselves were interesting creatures and you can tell RTD got inspired by them when making the Ood. The Doctor was also great in this episode and its cool seeing the doctors first wardrobe change of the show

Review of The Aztecs by Trench16
The Aztecs: 9.2/10 - I loved the focus on Barbara in this serial. She had some great moments and the “You can’t rewrite history, not one line” scene was brilliant. Ian was also a great character and he was honestly pretty badass. Cameca proposing to the Doctor was hilarious and I loved her dynamic with the Doctor as well. The whole proposal was definitely something I wasn't expecting. Tlotoxl was a very interesting villain as unlike most other DW villains, he didn't get his comeuppance which was unique. I also liked the dynamic between him and Autloc a lot

Review of The Keys of Marinus by Trench16
Keys of Marinus: 8.8/10 - I thought it was a great story. The anthology style of it was very interesting and made the story fresh each episode. The last episode was probably the weakest of them all as the Voord aren’t necessarily the strongest villains but the rest of the episodes being fantastic made up for that in my eyes. I loved the court scenes as well and Hartnell really got to shine in them.

Review of Marco Polo by Trench16
Marco Polo : 9.6/10 - just finished Marco Polo. Fantastic story! I think that Marco Polo and Tegana are two of the most well written characters in the shows history. I loved the anti-hero vibes that Marco Polo gave off and the looming threat of Tegana was fun watching through the whole story. There were some segments that dragged on and I think Barbara could have been used better but in total, its an amazing story. The sets were also something that impressed me. They were really well made for the time and it seemed like there was so many of them. The yellowface is pretty obvious but it was normal for the time so im not gonna rant on about it that much.

Review of The Edge of Destruction by Trench16
Edge of Destruction: 8/10 - just finished edge of destruction, it felt like a nuwho story in many ways. The character work between the Tardis team was very compelling with Susan and Barbara being the standouts. The plot itself isn’t the best but the character work carries the story.

Review of All of Time and Space by Trench16
All of Time and Space: 9.5/10 - This story was a mix of so many ideas and concepts but they all came together in a beautiful culmination with some great themes and moments. First off, the idea of the story is one that can either be done really good, or really bad. Luckily, the way this story is presented is very clear and the premise flows nicely. The metaness of this story is another thing that I really love. The opening itself is great with some great writing in the dialogue between Ellery and Darling. The Doctor and Valerie are amazing in this story straight from the beginning with Valerie being the standout by far. Ellery is a great protagonist and when he learns the truth about his world, you can truly feel his pain as he comes to realize his existence is purely fictional. The relationship built between Ellery and Valerie is great and Safiyya Ingar is able to use her acting talents to amazing effect. The scene between the two that showcased the true poignancy of the story was definitely their last scene before Ellery comes out of the Negative Perception. It is fantastically written.

Review of The End by Trench16
The End: 8.5/10 - This story was pretty good but I think my enjoyment was limited due to the constant other timeloop stories within wider media and Doctor Who itself. The side characters were kind of one note and only provided people for the Doctor and Valerie to befriend. This presentation of a timeloop was more interesting than most other timeloop stories as it showed two different run throughs at the same time. This provided a really interesting back and forth and seeing both The Doctor and Valerie experience similar things was pretty cool. The ending with Valerie on the brink of death was very emotional and it truly felt like Valerie was living her last seconds.

Review of The House of Masks by Trench16
The House of Masks: 9.0/10 - I think this episode was another great episode. Tomasi was a very somber character and you can see his anger and horrid guilt come out numerous times. Lady Secura was another great villain and yet another AI villain. For a majority of the story, shes your typical AI villain but at the end of the story, her breakdown is absolutely devastating. The setting is also great with the palazzo being full of detail throughout the story and the fireworks in the background were great for establishing the setting. Valerie's discussion with the Doctor at the end of the story was also great and genuinely very emotional.

Review of The Inheritance by Trench16
The Inheritance: 9.3/10 - A great introduction to this range. Jacob Dudman plays a fantastic 11th Doctor and Valerie is such an amazing companion. The plot worked really well and Hendricks was a great villain. Her lust for money and the horrible things she will do for it shows how evil of a character she is. I also enjoy how she constantly creates new bodies purely out of greed.. Safiyya Ingar was fantastic with her emotional range being one of the standouts of this audio. The Doctor and Valerie’s chemistry was also a standout.

Review of Prologue – Clara by Trench16
Clara: 7.8/10 - A decent little anthology of scenes. I liked the humor in this story a lot and I’m excited to see where the ending goes and how it leads into the next story. The mentions of characters like the Brigadier, River, and the Rocketmen were also cool little additions. Already Jacob Dudman is giving a great portrayal of the Eleventh Doctor which is incredibly on point and similar to Matt Smith. To wrap up, I’m looking forward to where this range goes and I find the concept of 11 trying to find Clara very interesting.

Review of The Daleks by Trench16
The Daleks: 9.3/10 - Just finished The Daleks and man is it a fantastic episode. Such high concept sci-fi for 1963 and although people complain about the pacing I thought it was fine throughout. The worst part however is the cave scene in which the characters are jumping over the cliff. That was way too long and was very boring. Considering the rest of the story was gripping throughout and watching it in one sitting never bored me, (besides the cave scene) I would rate this episode very highly.

Review of An Unearthly Child by Trench16
An Unearthly Child: 8/10 - Really nice way to start off the franchise. The first episode is very atmospheric and the rest of the episode is surprisingly very compelling. I like the dynamic between Za and Kal and the banter between the Doctor, Ian, and Barbara is very entertaining. Susan however had little to do and was not very important. She was good in the first episode but the last 3 gave her very little to do.

Review of Doctor Who: The Star Beast by Trench16
The Star Beast: 7.2/10 - The Star Beast is a TV story I like a lot. This novelization was a somewhat middling one however. The length of this book definitely adds to the reasons why I think this book is worse than many others. There is simply little room for the plot to breathe and the additions, like a lot of other stories, are few and far between. I do, however, really like the milkman from The Stolen Earth returning which adds a nice little call back to that episode. Overall, despite struggling from a lack of pagetime, the story is still very good and is a fun and concise read.

Review of Sync by Trench16
Sync: 9.5/10 - A masterpiece in simple story telling. This story knew what it was and ran with it. The dynamic between Margaret and Suzie is absolutely fantastic and both actors play their roles really well. The scene with Blon Fel Fotch attacking Suzie in the locker is so tense and it acted really well. The Slitheen are one of my favorite monsters and this story used them really well. I also love how it weaves into Boom Town so well.

Review of Echo by Trench16
Echos: 7.2/10 - This story was pretty good, but not particularly noteworthy in any way. I like Gabby’s reunion with her family which is strangely very short. The Shreekers were a nice funny design that I found amusing and the Echos themselves have a really cool design as well. This story suffers from its short length a lot and leaves a lot to be desired from a “companion returns home” story which is disappointing. Some highlights were the Doctor hanging off the Empire State Building and Gabby driving the moped away from the Shreekers. Also, why did we get no follow up to Cindy after the cold open??!!

Review of Boom by Trench16
This episode was the first Ncuti episode this season that I liked so far. Actually, not liked, loved! Everything about this episode, from the side characters, to the Doctor and Ruby, to the plot was absolutely amazing. I, like others, was hesitant about Moffats return and was scared of this story being too "Moffaty" in a bad way. Well, it was extremely "Moffaty" but in the greatest way. Confining the story to one area helped streamline the story greatly unlike the messy plots of Space Babies and TDC. Seeing Ncuti play a more serious and grounded version of the Doctor is much more preferable to the over energetic and over acted Doctor we see in both Space Babies and TDC. Another great part about this episode is the numerous call backs to previous Moffat episodes like fish fingers and custard, Villengard, Anglican Marines, and "the moon and the presidents wife". These references never distract us from the plot and serve as great easter eggs for the devoted fans. Ruby's mystery is also getting more and more interesting with her age being extremely high. Susan Twist also got a much bigger role this time and I'm very interested in what her role in the season ends up being. In conclusion, this episode has gotten me completely back on track with the season after 2 episodes that were, to me, incredibly boring and not entertaining. I'm really excited for 73 Yards and getting more of the mystery unraveled.
