Synopsis

Tonight's lecture to the Club for Curious Scientific Men will be given by Professor George Litefoot, pathologist - assisted by his esteemed colleague Mr Henry Gordon Jago, theatrical impressario - who will recount a sequence of outlandish events in London and Greece, ruminate upon the nature of good fortune (or rather its absence), and provide a surprising account of a mercurial old friend. The lecture starts at 7:30 and will include an interval.

Excellent Narration! It sets out the Atmosphere of this 'Two-Parter' so well! And again I can only echo what I said before in my Review for the second Act of this Story, the more I listen to those two, the more I enjoy them. Great Short Trip, even if it's just a tiny bit weaker compared to its second Part.

I can’t believe how long it took me to listen to the first part of this wonderful production. It is joyful and comforting to spend 30 minutes in the familiar company of Jago and Litefoot. The two strands of their story move slowly but are drenched in intriguing Victorian-style storytelling. When each of the Doctor’s become involved and you realise that you are witnessing part one of a multi-Doctor story it starts to fizz with energy. I hope they stick the landing!
