if you take out the costume, the gwen/owen morgue moment, and the resolution (weaponised barbecue sauce?) probably the best cyberman story since the 60s, although that is something of a big if. 8/10

it doesn't work as a main-series book (especially as the first of the range) but it's fun! i liked the writing style a lot. there were a lot of underutilized plot threads (i wonder what happened to baz?) but all-in-all, pretty decent, even if nothing to write home about.

really good, probably one of my top 5 13 stories, but it really doesn't work as a regeneration story. yaz deserved better. also, small thing, but they should have had peri (or even one of 8's lot like charley or sam or fitz or whoever) in there with tegan and ace.

oh the reviews on this one are going to be rancid

easily my least favourite regeneration story, and robynanarchist's review summarised it way better than i ever could but i will go ahead and say that it established my least favourite part of nuwho and that's the demystification of rassilon. it would have cost them nothing to hire some 50smth year old as a new incarnation of flavia or romana or brax or any other influential time lord (or even just cast timothy dalton as borusa rather than rassilon!) but they didn't and now rassilon's been diluted to Just The President Or Whatever rather from basically god? idk it seems cheap and poorly though out

one of my fav televised dw episodes and a fun look at what could have been. doesn't work as a regeneration story but that's because it isn't; it's fun, silly sci-fi. grace is nice, wish we had more of her. overall, it's tonally nuwho with all the camp of classic. 9/10
