Review of Robot by ErickSoares3

Sensational! They clearly had a smooth transition from the 3rd to the 4rd Doctor in a quite engaging story about artificial intelligence (with a clear 2001: A Space Odyssey and Terminator influence) and a nazi-allegory with the elitist group who was up for committing omnicide for their ideology. Even feeling tired, I was engaged and even the dated FX couldn't take me out of the story -- and I see that I will like the 4th Doctor, with his quite insane eyes hahaha

Review of Planet of the Spiders by ErickSoares3

19 June 2025

C'mon, that was sensational! From the action scenes, to the superpowers and the Doctor having to face his regeneration for the first time after being forced by the Time Lords... 10/10. We even got to meet the Doctor's old teacher -- and he is so sympathetic... I'm quite sorry for him not have been mentioned in the modern show. So, I end the Third Doctor's run with 100% of enjoyment!!!

Review of The Monster of Peladon by ErickSoares3

18 June 2025

Outstanding! Another well written story (I really didn't get bored by any of the Third's until now) with all the right notes on character bits and political as well as gender commentary, going from the power-lust Ice Warrior to the women's empowerment with Sarah.

Review of Death to the Daleks by ErickSoares3

15 June 2025

Well, that was quite a wonder.

At first, I almost got frustrated, thinking that this story would have been the first 3rd Doctor serial to bore me, but the Doctor and Sarah almost getting killed, the uneasy "alliance" with the Daleks and the intelligence tests in the "living city" got my attention from the beginning to the end.

Review of Invasion of the Dinosaurs by ErickSoares3

I loved it! The low budget dinosaurs, the big conspiracy (in what is an aryan/nazi allegory), the point about pollution and Sarah having full Zoe energy hahaha It is amazing!!

Review of The Time Warrior by ErickSoares3

13 June 2025

That was for sure the Sontaran episode which I most enjoyed!! Sarah Jane Smith starts as an intriguing character - and as someone who would make "certain people" nowadays have a heart attack - and I'm excited to see what will happen with this character in the future.

On the plot itself, I loved to see Sarah using the Occam razor to understand her own situation - but it backfired when she thought that the Doctor was working with the enemy. There are some nice gender commentary here and there, and it was heart-warming to see the Doctor, as always, not wanting to see anyone dying - even the antagonist.

Review of The Green Death by ErickSoares3

12 June 2025

Wow! That was really something! This story has the grossest maggots I have ever seen (but they are an amazing puppetry effect) and this highly political criticism and pro-environment story that I really enjoyed. Jo and Clif, the first legit couple in the show -- without feeling forced (like how Susan's was) or kind of rushed (how Vicky had her farewell). Clif, the young genius, is quite charismatic and soon is tuned to the Doctor's frequency. And the ending, is happy -- and sad. The Doctor hates goodbyes...

Review of Planet of the Daleks by ErickSoares3

9 June 2025

Adventure, intelligence, adrenaline and courage against the Daleks in a quite intriguing planet while fighting against impossible odds. As it stands now, this era is the best I've ever watched.

Review of Frontier in Space by ErickSoares3

8 June 2025

I'm honestly amazed on how I've been consistently enjoying the Third Doctor stories till now. This one, per example, a political thriller about polarization and how a third party may be the cause and the possible winner of a xenophobic induced fear between tho species (peoples). Doctor Who is political and, as we see it here, has always been.

Review of Carnival of Monsters by ErickSoares3

7 June 2025

At first this story left me confused, because I couldn't see what the Doctor story and the other aliens story had to do with each other -- but then we discover that they are in a type of miniaturized zoo, and I was left intrigued. And as any good episode that would have made people nowadays scream "woke!", the criticism of conservative power hunger and xenophobic views are on the spotlight.
