The audio version is, slightly disappointingly, a word for word lift from comic strip to audio. With the comic being a hugely visual thing, it does mean there is quite a lot of descriptive narration which can be a little clunky, but the spirit of the piece is wonderful and everyone is clearly putting their all into it. The actors playing Oxirgi, Malika and Kyril are all great but at the centre of it all is, of course, the inimitable Brian Blessed as Omega. He is marvellous and actually helps to bring Omega to the forefront of the whole story by making his appearances in Oxirgi’s mind at the beginning more striking than they were in comic strip form. The sound design and music is excellent and there is a lovely touch at the end in the scene where the Gel Guard is forming where they have included the sound effect the Gel Guards make in The Three Doctors. A short interview with Blessed at the end reveals how enthusiastic he was to take part in the project and how well he understands the character of Omega. And that really comes across in his characterisation. deltaandthebannermen View profile Like Liked 0 2 May 2025 · 49 words Review by crunch 3 If you're considering checking this out - it is most definitely up to the standard both production wise and quality wise then any of your regular big finish releases so you most certainly should. Quite camp - quite brilliant at times and very easy to follow. Great stuff. x crunch View profile Like Liked 3 Open in new window Statistics More Ratings Needed! 2 ratings Member Statistics Listened 8 Favourited 2 Reviewed 2 Saved 2 Skipped 4 Related Stories Classic Who S10 • Serial 1 · (4 episodes) The Three Doctors Rating: 4.20 Story Skipped Television Reviews(15) More Actions View Sets Close Related Sets Set of Stories: Doctor Who Season 10 Set of Stories: Doctor Who (1963-1996) Set of Stories: Third Doctor Add Review Edit Review Skip Skipped Unowned Owned Save to my list Saved Classic Who S15 • Serial 5 · (4 episodes) Underworld Rating: 2.10 Story Skipped Television Reviews(6) More Actions View Sets Close Related Sets Set of Stories: Doctor Who Season 15 Set of Stories: Doctor Who (1963-1996) Set of Stories: Fourth Doctor Add Review Edit Review Skip Skipped Unowned Owned Save to my list Saved Other adaptations of this story: We define an adaptation as a recreation of a similar story but on a different medium or with different characters.
