i don't care how amazing a lot of this is, who is this man this is NOT the first doctor

The first doctor returns, with David Bradley who portrayed Hartnell in An Adventure in Space and Time.

It's a great send-off from Moffat and Capaldi. 12s final words feel like Moffat himself sending of the character.

one of my least favourite nuwho episodes- really dislike how they portrayed the first doctor. i do really like the regeneration scene though it's very touching

I still don’t like it it really feels so disjointed

Doctor Who: The Capaldi Years - Christmas Special 2017

My favourite Christmas Special, it was sooo good! Despite I'd prefer if the Twelfth Doctor regenerated in The Doctor Falls, this story was enjoyable and didn't ruin the previous series finale. Delighted to see the First Doctor and Bill again, I was sad of course for the regeneration scene, since the Twelfth Doctor became my favourite NuWho Doctor by then.

Pretty unnecessary and I find it really hard to get properly engaged in the main story, it's really slow and uninvolving. I also kinda disagree with the decision to return the Doctor's memories of Clara.

However, it might all be worth just for the Christmas Truce scenes, because they're genuinely beautiful and never fail to make you emotional. Maybe that should've just been the entire episode.

Alas! It's a good regeneration scene, give it that. Hello Jodie Whittaker!
