This was a very sweet story and gave me exactly what I wanted after Dark Eyes 2, some more character development for Liv. It’s a challenge to have a character who is starting off as a sullen introvert which Liv acknowledges she is. This story was well-written and gave a lot more insight into her for me. Definitely worth your time.

This story wasnt for me. Which is a shame as it has some intresting ideas but does little with them.

I’m not a fan of formally Liv speaks, it feels a touch too formal compared to normal even for the context of being in a letter. A lot of it feels a touch over the top calling ceral “Bland Corn-based foodstuff eating in this epoch at this time of day” just feels like padding. The audience know Liv’s not from Earth so this sort of stuff just feel unnecessary.

I know its linked to a previous story, but given it wasnt advertised as being the 2nd part of something it just feels unsatisfying and inconclusive.

Plus, I dont think it makes sense to have the 8th Doctor on the cover instead of Liv. I get thats how Short Trip covers usually look, but he’s in so littile of the story.

The stuff relating to Liv’s dad is nice and sweet. But it doesnt save the story.

Not much to say about this one. It's good, but largely unremarkable. Liv Chenka's characterization continues to be great.

B. Maybe C.
