The animation of the Dalek Strategist scooting around the desert was genuinely awful. I have to say, the story really diverts here from some of the fun stuff set up in the first episode. I can't say I'm a fan of that choice. The whole thing with this hidden army and this droid making the strategist an Emperor, but I do appreciate the droid getting betrayed even if that end animation battle leaves a little bit to be desired. It feels like shifting the setting from space to a desert planet was a bad choice because it makes the animation way worse. Overall it had some cool moments but rough animation bits and the story is losing me quickly.

📝4/10 = MIDDLING!
Time Lording through time and space, one victory at a time! This time: showtime of the Daleks, part II!
The second part changes things up, as Skaro is put under attack after the Archivians betrayed the Daleks to an entity that exists outside time itself. The Emperor and Strategist are panicking as Skaro is obliterated in another epic battle scene. The situation forces the Daleks to gather reinforcements by contacting The Sentinel of the Fifth Galaxy, who gathers a hidden Dalek army.
Part of the action is set on a desert planet, and the animation looks like something from a PS2-era game. And here we meet the annoying R-41 robot, who thinks the Dalek Sentinel (a Dalek with a classic Dalek design!) is the Dalek Emperor. This second half of the episode is slower and less interesting, as it mostly sees the Sentinel chat with R-41, and it’s just a build-up for later plot developments.
In the end, the Daleks are still pursued by the Entity, and time is running out...

This episode is SO cool. Skaro! A classic series Dalek! A massive Dalek army!
It also features a great star turn from Joe Sugg as R-41. Whether he's mistaking the Dalek for the Emperor Dalek or believing he has tricked the Daleks, Joe Sugg is brilliant in the role.
And I still don't mind the animation. I think it's great for a freebie!
