I have reached the end of the batch of audios for "The Return of Mel," and what I can say is that unfortunately, there have been few good experiences with the stories; so far, this has been the weakest point of my run. I can say that this was a satisfactory conclusion. The audio has a comedic tone that at times I liked, while at other times it had some problems balancing its humour in certain sections. Despite this, it managed to make me laugh, but it also provided me with many silly and rough moments – Initially, Mel's attitude was a shock. We see that the companion had a debt since the time she travelled with Glitz with the new president of the Solar System, the well-known giant frog "Dogbolter". With no choice, she steals the TARDIS and betrays her two best friends, Doctor and Ace, handing them over to the villain. With the blue police box in hand, now "Dogbolter" can finally continue his project involving a device called "Quantum Possibility Mechanism": basically, a device that takes advantage of travelling through time and probability to alter past events. This plan attracts Narvin, who is sent from Gallifrey to start his investigations, tasked with ensuring that this powerful weapon does not end up in the wrong hands. YES, I know what you're thinking... what an awesome concept!! However, when the characters are placed in an alternate world, the plot involving the concept of the device was not as engaging and incredible as I expected – In this world, we have alternate versions of the main characters: Ace's blocks I found a bit dull, Narvin's were slightly better, the Doctor as a janitor brought me some laughs haha. Dogbolte and Mel remain in the same situation throughout the audio, the companion making repairs on one of the machines to reverse the situation, while the giant frog is involved in a negotiation. In summary, I liked it, it is a GOOD audio that could have gone further with its great concept. (Translation generated by AI, so mistakes are possible).
