Review of “The Noodle Incident”: Brand-New “The Noodle Man” Series Launches with Exclusive Arcbeatle Press Crossover Serial on April 1st by Owen
In recent years we have seen many corporations attempt at appearing ‘meta’, often by way of introducing a character that humorously seems to be aware of its existence as a fiction, and have it make snarky comments on the then current state of pop-culture and the like. This oftenness often originates out of dishonesty, with comments and/or jokes being made about a certain problem many find with the company, instead of actually doing something about the real problem. It’s a certain way of deflection and a way to make the audience believe that their self awareness means they are looking at themselves from the same perspective as the rest, as such attempting at evoking a certain feeling of togetherness. This simply being a ploy at earning more money.

Twain’s razor-sharp satire is a striking commentary on corporate greed infiltrating creative works. Touching on subjects like how shared universes (one that springs to my mind is the so called ‘Whoniverse’) are used to get more audiences to sell a certain product to, and, while they might seem like great tools for creative freedom, are merely marketing strategies disguised as ‘fun’.
As the counterpart to such horrible meta atrocities as ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Iris Wildthyme’, is a deeply complicated character with meaningful lore introduced, named: Noodle Man. While Noodle Man doesn’t appear in this story, it plays on all elements of his character already, thus making for one of the greatest introductions to a fictional character since 1963s “The Pilot Episode”. Noodle Man’s character is sincere, and carries a load of gravitas, making him instantly stand out as the main character. I have not yet read a story in which he appears, but am very much looking forward to it, if this introduction is anything to go by.
“”The Noodle Incident”: Brand-New “The Noodle Man” Series Launches with Exclusive Arcbeatle Press Crossover Serial on April 1st” is an outstanding piece of satire, likening itself to works like “Dracula by Bram Stoker”, “Only A Poor Old Man” and “Citizen Kane” with great character work to boot. Heightening itself above things that I don’t like, it is a certain 10/10.
TLDR; i think this is probably the only story on this site that contains a rickroll so it’s peak, genuinely 10/10
