Review of The Monsters from Earth by hallieday

The First Doctor #11

'The Monsters from Earth' from The Dr Who Annual 1966.

A fun enough short story, fairly well written in its structure, with a nice scenario of the TARDIS and The Doctor being caught in large spider web. The involvement of the Sensorites is rather a disappointment compared to how good they are in their self-titled serial. Their hairy designs and spider worship, along with their apparently abundant criminal activity and inhumane convictions, all add up to make them something very different. Would be cooler if it wasn't the Sensorites really. But I'm accepting that these annual stories contemporary to the time aren't going to adhere to any kind of consistent narrative like I hope the Short Trips and Big Finish media will at least attempt to.
