This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order. Previous Story: The Rani Elite A really generic, really tropey story but it has a solid setting and soundscape. There really isn't much to this one, it's so cliched I practically figured out the entire thing in the first 10 minutes. There's some commentary on sexism in the Victorian era but it's done in a really unsubtle way through an absolute caricature that it feels quite lazy. I liked the narration as though we were reading an explorer's journal, that was quite good. The Doctor and Peri aren't given much to do here and you'd be forgiven for thinking this was set during their Season 22 adventures as their dynamic feels exactly as it was then. It's only thanks to an off-hand remark about Krontep that you can even place this one. If I'm being honest, all I can really say about this story is thank God it's only an hour long.
