Doctor Who has a history with representation, with mixed results. Garay Russel’s 2010 novel deals with PTSD. This could have been handled really badly, but I think it’s really well presented in this story. The plot of the book is not very remarkable, so it’s the characters that draw your attention here. Thankfully the characters are all wonderfully written. I would definitely recommend this book for fans of the Eleventh Doctor (who is great in this one), or people wanting to get into the novels, as this is a solid introduction to the NSAs as a whole.
