Took a bit to really get going, but had a very excellent finale. In this case I knew immediately what was up, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake is a very well-known event especially to people living in western states like myself. The American accents all seemed largely good, which is a big step up from the early days of Big Finish. Tying this into the Eighth Doctor being born into San Francisco was clever, and the idea of this horrible 'gift' that Caleera has created was good. The ending with the horror of the quake was really well-done. Next time: River Song meets the Eighth Doctor!

I liked this one a lot! The characters were all pretty interesting, and they all played well into the premise. It's not a new or experimental premise, but the execution is really good.

DOCTOR: We’ll have the door open in a jiffy.

LIV: Except we still don’t know what’s out there.

HELEN: Please be careful!

DOCTOR: Are you scaredy cats?

HELEN: No

LIV: Just sensible

DOCTOR: Oh come on, we could sit here all day being sensible, we’d still be here next week, filling out risk assessment forms. And how boring would that be?
