Synopsis

Freshly regenerated and with a new head full of unanswered questions, the Doctor whisks Clara Oswald away to a strange and distant world. Clara thought she was in for an evening of marking essays on the Metaphysical Poets, followed by going out on a date or at least trying to. You know, normal stuff. Instead, she's facing down exotic flora and fauna in her best dress, backing up the Doctor on a trek through traumatically alien undergrowth and she doesn't even know what the Doctor is searching for, or what will try to kill them should they find it!

I loved the Hyperions! This was so good!! Clara and Twelve’s dynamic was so accurate as well, this was a joy to read

There are some good ideas throughout, but there’s a lack of central hook with the villain that gets me really excited. Any comic can have an all powerful, ancient big bad,  but this sun creature is quite a remote concept which doesn’t make me desperate to see its return.

Its crazy that this comic came out so soon after DWM’s debut Capaldi and Coleman comic, where the pair visit the sun - there is some definite crossover in themes which was probably discovered late in the day. I swear part one of this story even makes an overt reference to it.

Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time!

“TERROROFORMER: A CLASSIC WHO-STYLE OPENER”

Titan’s Twelfth Doctor: Year 1 kicks off with Terroroformer, a visually striking adventure set on an artificially terraformed planet. The recently regenerated Twelfth Doctor is written and drawn with impressive accuracy, fully capturing his sharp wit and commanding presence. Clara, however, comes across as her more irritating TV persona—overconfident and overbearing.

CLASSIC WHO VIBES MEET VIBRANT ARTWORK

The story leans into Classic Who territory with its premise: a corporate-led terraforming project gone terribly wrong. The pacing is slow, prioritising worldbuilding and character moments over immediate tension. However, the colourful, dynamic artwork and explosive action sequences make up for it, giving the adventure a strong visual identity. The Hyperions are serviceable villains, though not particularly original, while Kano Dollar embodies the classic greedy corporate figure, making his fate all the more satisfying.

VERDICT: A SOLID START, IF A LITTLE UNEVEN

While Terroroformer doesn’t quite hit the ground running in terms of action, its worldbuilding and character-driven storytelling provide a solid foundation. The stunning visuals and sharp characterisation of Twelve carry the story, even if Clara grates and the Hyperions fail to stand out.

📝7/10

Terraformer is alright, I guess. Some Art is nice, especially the setting and some Action Scenes. It very much feels like a safe bet for a first Story for a new Range. Some likenesses are better than others, (Coleman certainly is done much better than Capaldi). I am not too big on the Artstyle itself I have to admit, it’s not bad, just something that never appeals that much to me. The Dialogue is hit-and-miss, some feel much in Character, while others… not so much. There are some Moments, which I like, but overall it’s at best average, at worst a bit dull.
