An enjoyable enough story, although not one where any of the side characters manage to shine. I think it just about manages to get away with an awful lot of exposition all at once, but it's touch and go

Definitely one of the better Rani stories though and, having at this point read (I think) all the short stories featuring her, I'm prepared to say this is one of the best of that (short story) format

📝4/10 = SLIGHTLY UNENJOYABLE!

Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time! This time: it’s a red wedding!

This story throws us straight into the adventure, with Six and Peri visiting an alien wedding. It’s somewhat hard to get into the story when the characters and the setting are so unfamiliar. While we slowly learn about Koyutu and their wedding traditions, which involve the bride and groom going through a body renewal process similar to regeneration, this very exposition-heavy story makes it a slog to listen to.

The story picks up somewhat once the Rani is revealed to be involved. But even then, the story remains very muddled, the characters don’t pop out, and the adventure never turns truly intriguing. The Doctor also blends into the background of it.

Sophie Aldred’s American accent is fun to listen to, and it brings Peri’s narration to life.
