I don't know how, but I still continue to let Torchwood surprise me. Due to the Monarchy's involvement I've had this on the backburner, but oh my god it was great!? I really wish Beatrice wasn't a royal, because she was great in this. Really truly wonderful, all the characters were. I'd gladly hear more from them, maybe Zygon Century 2 if that happens. That ending!?

This review contains spoilers!

This story was good fun, and classic Torchwood. Torchwood has always interestingly wedded the subversive with the aristocratic, and this story is no different. After Queen Victoria's death (funny enough we just in January had a story based around exactly this - Lord of Misrule), her youngest, Beatrice, is given Torchwood. She completely stumbles in and upsets a perfectly negotiated truce with a group of Zygons living peacefully. It turns out, however, that Beatrice is not quite as innocent as we'd think. Was King Edward VII replaced by a Zygon duplicate? It's likelier than you think!
