I've been up and down with this series so far, and it's definitely not what I expected, but it has to be said that the return of the Mechanoids was nothing short of delightful.  I'm back to enjoying the animation again even if parts of it are still pretty choppy. I do think it is thanks to not having the light of the desert washing everything out like in episode 2.  Whatever the case, this episode looked great more than it didn't and was pretty interesting again story-wise.  These Dalek characters remain interesting compared to the average unit, although I fear the Executioner is gone, at least for now.  A big rebound for me after episode two.

📝5/10 = MIDDLING!

Time Lording through time and space, one victory at a time! This time: showtime of the Daleks, part III!

Part 3 brings back the Mechanoids from The Chase, as the Daleks are forced to attempt to ally with them. I’m sort of growing to like their version of the Dalek Emperor, and it’s interesting to see the Mechanoid Queen as well (she has a cute crown). The Mechanoid voices are vastly improved from the original voices.

I like the little tension formed between the Emperor and Strategist, who tackle the problem from slightly different angles.

This is another talky one, mostly centred on the Dalek and Mechanoid leaders conferring. A lot of the writing focuses on highlighting the differences between the Daleks and the Mechanoids. The tail end erupts into a battle between the races, who don’t see eye to eye on anything, and the Emperor leading the Entity straight to Mechanus.

Sadly, the version of Mehcnaus seen here is uglier and less interesting than the one seen in The Chase.

God, I love this episode so much.

It's just so cool seeing the Mechanoids back in a Doctor Who spin-off, and that red Mechanoid is amazing! I really enjoyed that Dalek/Mechanoid battle, and the twist at the end really showcases how ruthless the Daleks are. Even when they seek help, they still have to be the superior beings.
