Previous Story: World Apart

There's so much to love about this story that I'm not quite sure where to begin. For a start, it's Paul Magrs at his silliest and I absolutely love it. Iris Wildthyme is such a fun character and played so wonderfully by Katy Manning that it makes this story an utter joy to listen to.

Having her framed as the main antagonist of the story for most of it is a really interesting position to put her into and it feels fitting that 7 should finally be the Doctor who refuses to put up with her. Of course, this backfires on him and even despite that he's so smug and insufferable that you almost hate him in this story (something I think more stories should try and do).

I loved the moment of realisation when I finally figured out what Iris' plan was. Seeing all the pieces fall into place like that was extremely enjoyable. Another certified Paul Magrs banger.

No matter the good comedic intentions of "Muse Of Fire", it's undeniable to say that even though it’s a story with some good funny moments, the audio presents a series of negative points that can be very well considered as significant. An example is its plot, its problematic which is quite weird - A villain who is interfering in the course of history with the aim of sucking the fluid from the brains of the great art geniuses... Like 😐... I don't need to say anything, do I 🤦🏻‍♂️... The villain "Dora" starts off as a very interesting and promising character, but is totally ruined over the course of the audio with a revelation at the end that is somewhat ridiculous. Moreover, the conclusion of the story is a complete disaster, a total mess... In a few words, it is BAD. Talking about the positives, as I initially said, the audio has its funny and entertaining moments, such as having to imagine a stuffed Panda walking back and forth, talking with the characters, sitting at a desk writing a critique of an art piece LOL and Ace teasing the Panda LOL. Furthermore, we have the character of the great Katy Manning, "Iris Wildthyme" who always presents a perfect comedic tone (her hitting on Hex LOL). In summary, "Muse Of Fire" still manages to earn the label of "A good audio" sustained by its good comedic moments and its incredible sound effects that deliver a great and immersive setting, you really feel like you are in Paris in the 1920s.
