Leagues better than the previous two parts. Earth has been taken over by the Daleks, human resources have been depleted so now they are tempting Sontarans to the planet for conversion. The master is working with them of course. Having an older Molly makes narrative sense and a an acceptable workaround for not being able to get the real deal. It is fantastic seeing the master's plan come together - he takes over a Dalek army! The way he betrays the Dalek leadership is very satisfying and MacQueen's performance is once again, perfect.

The main character in this story is the Macqueen Master, and boy is he fun. I think he is the smarmiest of all the masters, he speaks in a formal way but you can tell he is just sneering underneath the surface. His presence along makes this fun. The first half he's facing off against Liv (who continues to be great this boxset), then he's against the Time Controller, and finally the Doctor who had some classic amnesia for some reason. Liv also meets an older Molly, and it is good to see her again. Liv is starting to feel more like a traditional companion while Molly was a temporary one, I'm warming to her a lot. Dark Eyes 4 has definitely stepped it up from 2 and 3.

kinda drags a lot this one, just felt like it was filler really before the big conclusion! some nice scenes with the master, and the totally surprising (/j) return of molly!

Okay, I'm fully around on Alex Macqueen's Master now. I love how smug and sarcastic he is. So over the top. This story is more about him than the Doctor, and he shines.

A. Maybe B.

MASTER: We go back a long, long way, the Doctor and I. We were at school together, we went out into the universe together. We’ve even killed each other a few times and that always gives you a very special bond with someone.
