Previous Story: Fiesta of the Damned Oddly enough, I didn't mind this one. If anything, I enjoyed it. I can definitely see though how in a worse mood I wouldn't have been as kind to this story as I am - the aliens are annoying, Ace gets shafted again, the ending completely undermines what the whole story is doing. There's a lot of flaws and yet I found the acting compelling and the general concept to be a really interesting one, handled fairly well. It's difficult to continue with these audios from Mel's return. Maker Of Demons was one of the biggest wastes of time I've had with BIG FINISH material – Look, it's not something terrible on the level of the trio "The Rapture", "The Dark Husband", and "Dreamtime"... It's just an experience that adds nothing, with no interesting concepts, a predictable plot repeating the monotonous narrative pace of the previous audio. In summary, as a great friend of mine says, "It's just an audio that exists... that's it." That's the perfect description for Maker Of Demons. The first few minutes of the storyline even bring interesting airs; we see the Doctor and Mel visiting a planet where both are being exalted, deified, for having negotiated peace between the inhabitants, the human colonists, and a native species resembling moles or pigs, I don't know. Deciding to return to the planet 100 years later, the TARDIS team finds the location suffering a war scenario – From here on, things start to go downhill (predictable plot, as I've already said), and besides being distant from Mel and the Doctor, Ace spends most of the plot in a very silly block alongside "Talpa", a character who underwent a mutation and turned into a monster there ksksk. The Cliffhangers are very weak, I confess I laughed out loud at how ridiculous the one from part 2 going into 3 was. The 7th Doctor is no longer that enigmatic character who always had a leg up in problems, manipulative - He came back with his buffoonery mode seen in Season 24, I believe it is intentional to hit that nostalgia from the fans of his debut season. In summary... boring, my advice is to skip this audio kskskskk. (Translation generated by AI, so mistakes are possible). KnuppMello View profile Like Liked 0 Open in new window Statistics AVG.
