Review of Madquake by thedefinitearticle63

This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order.

Previous Story: Thin Time

Doctor-lites are quite rare for any stories set during the classic era. You'd think that with such a unique and dynamic companion team, they'd be able to carry this story without the Doctor but they really can't. This story explores Marc in a nice way at the start, before sidelining his character and making him unable to form coherent sentences.

Tegan is more like her character on TV, she's whiny and annoying and it feels strangely contrasting to the rich character-work Big Finish have done for her. All that leaves Nyssa as the only character even somewhat compelling and I don't think even Tom Baker could make this story entertaining so Nyssa stands no chance.

I'm sure some people find the Slitheen appealing, I'm sure they have the potential to be appealing, but they just aren't in this story at all. By far, they are what made this story such a slog to get through.
