I was having a lot of fun with this audio, I really was. And then the secret of the true identity of Courtmaster Cruel ruined it... I mean, I would get it a lot more if the audio had been deliberately poking fun at male fans who are going to be anti-girl, but for Izzy to AGREE that Courtmaster Cruel shouldn't be a girl makes the whole audio feel more mean-spirited towards comic fans. The wrap-up just ends up being misogynistic and transmisogynistic, as well as kinda homophobic. It's just very disappointing to what would otherwise be a fun and deliberately over-the-top audio.

This was one of the worst Big Finish audios I have ever listened to. Almost every aspect of it is beyond grating. Maybe Izzy has some hidden charm or appeal I don't know since I've never read the comics, but good god, her voice is atrocious. No disrespect to the voice actress, but it's so high-pitched and shrieky - was it meant to be childish? The missing comic story was... a thing. The outer space comic place was... a thing. It all passed in one awful haze. I did not enjoy a single minute of this. Not even Paul McGann's silky smooth voice could save it.

Yeah, I have to agree that it wasn't that great. But of course Paul McGann was the redeeming part of this story and I did laugh at a few things Eight said regarding to Izzy's comic obsession. But yeah, not sure yet about Izzy's character. Maybe I'll need to read the comics where she's in and we'll see.

I certainly agree with critical consensus on this site that this is the weakest among The Company of Friends, but I'd go a little farther to say it is so by a wide mile.

I get that this is supposed to be light-hearted, goofy Doctor Who fun, but the key word in that is fun. I did not have fun. I found the jokes and silliness kind of lame and a little too over-the-top for my tastes, and some of the jokes about girls in comics or the nature of the evil comic book company all felt really old hat to me. I did like Izzy though, and the way she just wanted to learn about the last issue in a comic series is an adorable hook for a Doctor Who adventure.

Her and Eight are great here, but I found the voices of a lot of the other characters pretty grating at times if not awful in their delivery. Just chewing the scenery in the worst way possible. I did not enjoy this one.

Izzy reminds me of Lucie Miller if she was a stupid nerd. I love Izzy. Like Fitz, I really wish there were more audios with her.

The story, like Izzy, is very stupid. Also like Izzy, I love it.
