Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time!

MY SCATTERED AND TOTALLY IRRELEVANT NOTES:

Joseph Lidster returns with another uniquely structured story, featuring elements like clubbing, music, angels, and the vibrant party scene. At first glance, it seems like a fresh take on The Rapture, but it quickly takes a darker, more sinister turn. Lidster’s introspective writing style keeps the narrative deeply personal throughout.

The standout aspect of the story is its perspective—a first-person account of a serial killer's journey, including his transformation into a vampire and the string of deaths he leaves in his wake, all while maintaining a seemingly normal life in the TV industry. The graphic depiction of violence adds a vivid, unsettling layer that enhances the story's visual impact.

However, the narrative occasionally veers off course with tangents, including some outdated pop culture references, which can make it feel disjointed at times. Additionally, the poetic tone in certain sections may not appeal to every reader.

The Doctor and Romana only appear at the story’s conclusion, confronting and ultimately defeating the unnamed protagonist, tying up the tale in a decisive yet somewhat abrupt fashion.
