I’m wondering if there’s some rules against Titan using certian real life figures, first Jones, not Frankie Seneca. Choosing to just believe that they are the figures they’re meant to be instead of strangely renamed versions.

Generally though I really liked this story, A gang story with 12 isn’t something I thought I’d see but I’m glad I did, love the history here, love the general vibes, and some fun and funky worldbuilding (I like the reference to the first of 12’s comics, the new aliens are fun, and the time gun of Rassilon is so so stupid I can’t help but love it at least a little).

👍🏼= GOOD!

Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time!

I absolutely love the swinging 60s-era US depicted here (and the Doctor in a proper suit and hat). It’s also intriguing that this story ties into Rassilon and an alien criminal he defeated long ago.

The art style is very sharp, and I enjoy it a lot.

Clara is much more bearable here, and the Doctor is very sharply written. The other characters aren’t too special, although I’m a bit hung up on Frankie Seneca, clearly meant to be Frank Sinatra.

I love how this is so bonkers that we'd never see it on TV—Octopus aliens, time guns, a seamless mix of history and sci-fi—yet how stylish and classic this storyline feels.

The climax is perhaps a bit underwhelming considering the build-up, but it also sort of fits into how a lot of modern Doctor Who stories end.

This is an enjoyable story with a cool premise that's executed well. The art is solid. I wasn't familiar with any of the historical celebrities that featured in this story, but that didn't really matter.

CLARA: Doctor, you're the biggest gambler I've ever met. Daleks, Cybermen, Fractures, Hyperions. You gamble all the time--with your own life! And mine!
