Ha ha comedy

This was surprisingly cute, given it was about Daleks. I like it as a sort of take on Davros before he really became Davros, and a fun little prequel to the Genesis of the Daleks. I think people are taking this way too seriously for what it is. Sure, the Daleks can be a serious villain, but I just was checking out the Chase again, where they are featured alongside a Dracula monster. A little levity for a charity special does no harm to anyone and we got to have a bit more fun with David Tennant as the Doctor. What's there to hate?

Eh

It's ok

Well that was a pretty good minisode. Fantastic to get Julian Bleach as Davros before he became immobilised in the Dalek casing and disfigured. What was with that music when the Doctor arrived though?

Also hilarious how we all thought Mawaan Rizwan would be someone significant from the show's past, and his character is literally just called CastAVillain.

Pretty decent, a good taster as to what was to come for RTD2. Not the best and not the worst.

Critically reviewing TV is not my strong suite, I plan on getting better but my first reviews may just be basic opinions :)

DOCTOR: Hello. Just passing by, cos I got a bit lost. It's funny, 60 minutes ago I was this really brilliant woman, and now I've got this old face back again. I mean, why? Why? I ask of you, my brand-new friend. Why?

Transcript

[Davros' laboratory on Skaro]

DAVROS: Greetings. Mister Castavillian, I take it?
CASTAVILLIAN: Yes, Davros, an honour to work for you, sir.
DAVROS: Then, allow me to show you the future of our beloved Kaled race. Behold my Mark III Travel Machine. The war has caused the Kaled race to mutate, but within this casing we can evolve, we can start anew. We can become stronger than ever!
DALEK: We will become the supreme race in the universe.
DAVROS: Observe. A bonded polycarbide shell. A ruby ray blaster. And a multi-dextrous claw capable of annihilating a million Thals. My ultimate masterpiece of design.
CASTAVILLIAN: Yes, I did some research on the name, sir. Since we're called Kaleds, I thought our future selves could be an anagram of Kaled. Like... Lekad.
DAVROS: No.
CASTAVILLIAN: Adlek.
DAVROS: No.
CASTAVILLIAN: Klade.
DAVROS: No.
CASTAVILLIAN: Edlka.
DAVROS: No!
NYDER [OC]: Davros, I need your confirmation to begin the next bombardment, sir.
DAVROS: One moment, and touch nothing. Is that understood?
CASTAVILLIAN: Yes, sir.

(Davros leaves.)

CASTAVILLIAN: Edlak.

(The Tardis materialises, damaging the prototype Travel Machine.)
