Previous Story: The Greatest Show in the Galaxy

This definitely isn't as good as Remembrance of the Daleks but it's nonetheless a solid action thriller. 7 becoming a local politician is quite funny and in line with his character. The Counter Measures team are good fun, this has definitely intrigued me about their spinoff. Aside from Gilmore though I don't think they get much time to shine which is a tad disappointing.

The story is a bit sluggish in the beginning but it really picks up towards the end. It's very exciting which a lot of stories can often fail to be even with absurdly high stakes. It's not exactly like Mission Impossible but that's the best comparison I can think of especially in that last act. The Light feel a bit underbaked though. I think the story on the whole would've worked better without any alien elements at all.

Overall, not the best in the 1963 trilogy but still really strong.

First audio from The Greatest Show In The Galaxy - We have a political thriller with a touch of science fiction involving a conspiracy within the British government, complete with villains who have an insane mass assassination plan, and of course, a ticking bomb. The 7th Doctor is as always one step ahead of everyone else; from the beginning, he already has his orchestrated plan under control.
Unfortunately, the political intrigues are very drawn out, in my view, there was no need for such lengthy depth. The great proof of this is in its final block (part 4) where it does very well in blending the political intrigues and the action. Before that, the story takes 2 parts to build a plot and establish the enemies and allies, practically 3 parts of very tiring political problematic dialogues.
Moreover, I was left with a sense of too many characters, there are many voices here, many characters making it difficult to distinguish between them, what helped me was the Transcript (however for those who listen without, I imagine this work is more difficult), so I already advise, it requires extra care in focus and attention.
Honestly, although it is a GOOD audio (this cannot be denied), its "political conspiracy" theme does not attract me much, especially as it presents a rather monotonous behavior. It's the type of story I'd hardly pick up to listen to again, but it's far from being negligible.
