Review of Fear of Flying by monocheto

8 May 2025

This review contains spoilers!

A good character piece for the main character and surprisingly for The Doctor as well, sweet little story, the only thing i think its lacking a bit its in the sound design which is a bit minimalistic but also is one of the least important aspect for an audiobook

Review of Dark is the Devil that Walks by monocheto

7 May 2025

This set was building up to being the best one of the short trips but the second half really fell off, the stories arent bad at all, all of them are decent at least but the first 2 swipe the floor with the rest

Review of The Man Who Wasn’t There by monocheto

This is one of those short trips where im glad the runtime is 40min it serves very well for the eventual payoff of the mistery, and the way in which The Doctor comforts Charley in the end is simply beautiful

Review of The Black Knight by monocheto

24 February 2025

This review contains spoilers!

Lizbeth Myles really knows how to make both and interesting and heartbreaking story, the acting and sound design are also top tier, Norton is such a bad person but also somewhat likeable, the feminism and unfair part of this story is greatly done and what makes it unforgettable for me, makes you wonder how many times a situation like the one in the end must ve happened in history?

Review of Expectant by monocheto

6 February 2025

This review contains spoilers!

This one shouldnt be the bottom spot for worst TW audio, idk which one would be but this one was actually funny for me and an unusual way to deal with the aftermath of Tosh and Owen s deaths, really liked all the varied sequences and the role of Ianto, overall the only reason i can come up with why i and many others left with a sour taste with this one is because the last JB audio to date was EXPECTANT and not something cooler like Absent Friends, its a shame really to see the interesting character of Jack get put on an indefinite hold getting constant mentions or references in the newer audios but with no return in sight

Review of Instant Karma by monocheto

27 December 2024

This review contains spoilers!

This story is really interesting, a sequel to greeks bearing gifts where toshiko goes to group therapy and things start sounding a bit shady from the start, the alien threat is an amazing concept and i felt the tension at all times, the only weak point for me is the ending, kinda abrupt and kind of a lazy way to solve a problem with a "bro just trust me, i wont show up or use this powers again"

My first BF audio and a really special one indeed, the perfect duo was choosen to visit Mondas on its last leg, both the Doctor and Nyssa s plotlines are amazing, the cybermen voices, the scenes, the comitee, pretty much everything about this story is top tier

Review of Loups-Garoux by monocheto

1 October 2024

Brazil in 2080 is such a vibe, Marc Platt is great with interesting locations and the sound design in part 1 is awesome, i could easily imagine the whole thing, shout out to the cool carnival segment with them mentioning the use of holograms, if i could choose a BF story to be animated this surely would be on the podium, now talking about the story itself it really grabbed me from the get go, varied cast of recognizable characters with interesting drama attached to them, specially Ileana, easy to follow story and i highly reccomend it

Review of Minuet in Hell by monocheto

1 October 2024

This review contains spoilers!

I cant for the life of me understand why so many people hate this one, yes, its edgy, weird and a bit too long but i think again the setting and the meta reference with nicholas briggs "being the doctor" as a reference to the audio visual stories really make this story interesting and cool to listen to, Paul McGaan s acting is superb and his interactions with the Brigadier are sweet, i think Charley draws the short end of the stick because that plotline may be the thing why people dont vibe with the story, on the other hand i think the villains and supporting characters are also interesting, i dont really have a problem with bad accents lol, my favourite scene is obviously the ending and it makes a great setup for the next arc
