Honestly i'm not really sure if I like this story or not. As sci-fi horror goes it's fairly standard fare, it does find something cool to build on the Midnight entity, but the scene when it's all revealed, the guys just flying up and down just looks silly. That said, Ncuti is brilliant, one of his best performances I'd say. Eh, it was okay, has good rewatch value, nice atmosphere, pretty harmless. laaarwooe View profile Like Liked 2 11 June 2025 · 190 words Doctor Who Season Two • Episode 2Lux laaarwooe Spoilers Review of Lux by laaarwooe 11 June 2025 This review contains spoilers! This story had such a good concept, the idea of a cartoon character coming to life and causing general havoc is a brilliant and playful idea for an episode, but the moment the fan scene happened, I was compelely lost. If I was being really cynical I'd say it was probably the first idea RTD had when coming back to Doctor Who, it's self-congratulatory and treats it as if it's revolutionary but it's just so f**king boring man. It goes on for so long as well, it's just bollocks, if Doctor Who fans ever did look like that, they don't anymore. I don't even say that as an insecure fan, it's just...slightly infantilising of your audience? I don't know, but that's what Doctor Who fans looked like in maybe 2012, and even then it was an over-exaggeration. The final scene when all the missing are freed from the cinema is rubbish too, that squeaky cafe kid just plays it so cheaply. This episode really could've been something special but it's just utterly self-absorbed and too pre-occupied with audience tag. Only works on first viewing, second viewing it's just nothing. laaarwooe View profile Like Liked 0 11 June 2025 · 70 words Doctor Who Season Two • Episode 1The Robot Revolution laaarwooe Review of The Robot Revolution by laaarwooe 11 June 2025 It was better than Space Babies, the blinovitch limitation effect scene was absolutley gorgeous, and I love the pulpy 1950s aesthetic that Missbelindachandra One has, the colours are nice too. The story is...half baked, I can see what it's trying to do, there's not much to say. It's no great idea or statement but it seems RTD isn't all that fussed about making strong impressions in his Episode 1s. laaarwooe View profile Like Liked 0 Sorting and filtering coming soon!
