Review of Self-Help by jay_mccrimmon

27 February 2025

I don't even know how to start talking about this MASTERpiece! I will write a simple review, but eventually I will rewrite with more details! Just a quick review!

I was so hyped about the arrival of this box, since Sacha is one of my favorites incarnations of the Master, his acting, little mannerisms a voice are unforgettable! And since I was so hyped, I got a little scared I could be disappointed, but that wasn't the case, indeed, I was surprised with a story even better that I could ever imagine!

The setting, the characters and the plot really got me, I thought I wouldn't care about the other crew members, but they were amazing, even with short "screen" time.

And what really got me were the sequences when the Master had monologues and started to arguing with himself, Sacha did a brilliant work on these sequences!

Overall, this was a perfect episode, and Sacha was breathtaking, if he was already amazing on the show, now he shines even more with better script!

Not only one of the best Doctor Who stories, but one of the best stories ever written of all time! The setting, the characters, the dialogues, absolutely everything is perfect on this story!

Review of The War Games in Colour by jay_mccrimmon

14 January 2025

This review contains spoilers!

One of my favorites, and most depressing arcs of the classic series in colour! It was perfect, of course it had to cut out some moments, but they've managed to get it right and you would be able to perfectly understand the full story just by watching this version, the only thing that I think they should've kept was the whole sequence of the Doctor trying to escape the time Lords, such a strong and emotional sequence in the original version!

Review of Joy to the World by jay_mccrimmon

Overall it was a great special! I really loved how the Christmas setting was very clear and comfy, Anita was a great character! The only that that I wish we could've got more was moments with Joy, such a incredible actress and with so little screentime, maybe if the special had 30 minutes more, it would be perfect!
