“Human progress isn't measured by industry, it's measured by the value you place on a life. An unimportant life. A life without privilege. The boy who died on the river, that boy's value is your value. That's what defines an age. That's what defines a species.”
“Love, in all its forms, is the most powerful weapon we have. Because love is a form of hope. And like hope, love abides. In the face of everything.”
“Oh, the blossomiest blossom. That's the only sad thing. I want to know what happens next. Right, then. Doctor Whoever-I'm-about-to-be. Tag, you're it.”
“Cos sometimes this team structure isn't flat. It's mountainous, with me at the summit in the stratosphere, alone, left to choose.”
“Winning? Is that what you think it's about? I'm not trying to win. I'm not doing this because I want to beat someone, or because I hate someone, or because, because I want to blame someone. It's not because it's fun and God knows it's not because it's easy. It's not even because it works, because it hardly ever does. I do what I do, because it's right! Because it's decent! And above all, it's kind. It's just that. Just kind. If I run away today, good people will die. If I stand and fight, some of them might live. Maybe not many, maybe not for long. Hey, you know, maybe there's no point in any of this at all, but it's the best I can do, so I'm going to do it. And I will stand here doing it till it kills me. You're going to die too, some day. How will that be? Have you thought about it? What would you die for? Who I am is where I stand. Where I stand, is where I fall. Stand with me. These people are terrified. Maybe we can help, a little. Why not, just at the end, just be kind?”
MASTER: Is the future going to be all girl? DOCTOR: We can only hope.
MASTER: Is the future going to be all girl?
DOCTOR: We can only hope.
“They're not your rescuers. They're your replacements. The end point of capitalism. A bottom line where human life has no value at all. We're fighting an algorithm, a spreadsheet. Like every worker, everywhere, we're fighting the suits.”
“Come on, Ryan. Come on, Yaz. I'm calling you Yaz, cos we're friends now.”
DOCTOR: Yaz, I can't fix myself to anything, anywhere or anyone. I've never been able to. That's what my life is. YASMIN: Yeah, of course. DOCTOR: Not because I don't want to, because I might. But if I do fix myself to somebody I know, sooner or later, it'll hurt.
DOCTOR: A wise person once said to me, goodbyes only hurt because what came before was so special. Oh, and it's been so special. You, and Graham, and Ryan, and Dan. Nobody else got to be us. Nobody else got to live our days. Nobody. And my hearts are so full of love of all of you. Oh, I have loved being with you, Yaz. And I have loved being me. I think I need to do this next bit alone. YASMIN: Let's not say goodbye.
DOCTOR: A wise person once said to me, goodbyes only hurt because what came before was so special. Oh, and it's been so special. You, and Graham, and Ryan, and Dan. Nobody else got to be us. YASMIN: Let's not say goodbye.
YASMIN: We're never going to get that moment on the beach where you tell me everything that happened to you, are we? DOCTOR: Of course we will.
YASMIN: We're never going to get that moment on the beach where you tell me everything that happened to you, are we?
DOCTOR: Of course we will.
YASMIN: I don't know what to do, Dan. I've never told anyone. Not even myself. DAN: Just tell her. YASMIN: It's not that easy. DAN: Look, I took way too long to tell somebody that I liked them and then... the universe ended and everything got messy. I wouldn't want that to happen to you, Sheffield.
“Sorry. No time. Really, no time. My actions are catching up with me. Time is catching up with me. I will not let you die because of decisions I've taken.”
“It felt cruel... to be shown something I couldn't have any more. Felt like, er, I'd rather not have known. I'd rather not have met her, cos having met her and then... being without her, that's worse. How do you deal with that?”
C: Don't be ridiculous, Franklin. I've read the files. The Doctor is a man. DOCTOR: I've had an upgrade.
C: Don't be ridiculous, Franklin. I've read the files. The Doctor is a man.
DOCTOR: I've had an upgrade.
KARVANISTA: You defile the sacred legacy of my forebears. DAN: You don't look anything like four bears.
KARVANISTA: You defile the sacred legacy of my forebears.
DAN: You don't look anything like four bears.
DAN: She likes you. DOCTOR: I like her, too. DAN: No, I mean... she likes you. DOCTOR: I don't understand what you're saying, Dan. DAN: I think you do. But for some reason you pretend to me, and to her, that you don't.
DAN: She likes you.
DOCTOR: I like her, too.
DAN: No, I mean... she likes you.
DOCTOR: I don't understand what you're saying, Dan.
DAN: I think you do. But for some reason you pretend to me, and to her, that you don't.
YASMIN: Make a wish and skim it. DOCTOR: I wish... YASMIN: You can't say your wish out loud! DOCTOR: You can where I'm from. I wish... I wish this would go on forever.
YASMIN: Make a wish and skim it.
DOCTOR: I wish...
YASMIN: You can't say your wish out loud!
DOCTOR: You can where I'm from. I wish... I wish this would go on forever.
CLAIRE: This enigmatic person of yours, would you trade them for reliable and dull? YASMIN: My person's a bit different.
CLAIRE: This enigmatic person of yours, would you trade them for reliable and dull?
YASMIN: My person's a bit different.
“Time And Relative Dimension In Space. TARDIS for short. You're safe in here. You're safe in here and you always will be.”
“I want more. More of the universe. More time with you. You're like the best person I've ever met.”
DAN: Has she said something to you? YASMIN: Why? What would she say to me? DAN: Oh, come on, Yaz. Can't you see it?
DAN: Has she said something to you?
YASMIN: Why? What would she say to me?
DAN: Oh, come on, Yaz. Can't you see it?
DOCTOR: Wow. Isn't it spectacular? What a universe. What a planet. Just when you think you've seen the lot there's something like this. YASMIN: It's stunning. DOCTOR: Yes, it is. Not a bad date, am I?
DOCTOR: Wow. Isn't it spectacular? What a universe. What a planet. Just when you think you've seen the lot there's something like this.
YASMIN: It's stunning.
DOCTOR: Yes, it is. Not a bad date, am I?
DOCTOR: Yaz. I'm sorry. I didn't let you in to what I was doing. Going after Karvanista. What I was looking for. I shouldn't have shut you out. YASMIN: No. You shouldn't have. DOCTOR: I was looking for... information... about me. A life I never knew. I want to tell you everything. YASMIN: I'd like that.
DOCTOR: Yaz. I'm sorry. I didn't let you in to what I was doing. Going after Karvanista. What I was looking for. I shouldn't have shut you out.
YASMIN: No. You shouldn't have.
DOCTOR: I was looking for... information... about me. A life I never knew. I want to tell you everything.
YASMIN: I'd like that.
DOCTOR: Hmm, there it is again. That itch. Go down, go down, go down, go down, go down. IDA: The urge to jump. Do you know where it comes from, that sensation? Genetic heritage. Ever since we were primates in the trees. It's our body's way of testing us. Calculating whether or not we can reach the next branch. DOCTOR: No, that's not it. That's too kind. It's not the urge to jump. It's deeper than that. It's the urge to fall.
CLARA: No. Why would you even do that? I was dead! I was dead and gone. Why? Why would you even do that to yourself? DOCTOR: I had a duty of care.
CLARA: No. Why would you even do that? I was dead! I was dead and gone. Why? Why would you even do that to yourself?
DOCTOR: I had a duty of care.
“None of us know for sure what's out there. That's why we keep looking. Keep your faith. Travel hopefully. The universe'll surprise you... constantly.”
DOCTOR: Are you going to...? YASMIN: Stay? Yeah, definitely. DOCTOR: Yes! YASMIN: I'm not ready to let you go yet.
DOCTOR: Are you going to...?
YASMIN: Stay? Yeah, definitely.
DOCTOR: Yes!
YASMIN: I'm not ready to let you go yet.
“When I was with the Doctor, I saw more than I could have ever dreamed. And then... we lost each other. I didn't know what happened to him. If he was alive or... if I was ever going to see him again. Hard way to live. Being with the Doctor, you don't get to choose when it stops. Whether you leave her or... she leaves you.”
“How many people in the universe get to meet the Doctor, let alone travel with her? We're the lucky ones, Yaz. Enjoy the journey while you're on it. Cos the joy... is worth the pain.”
DOCTOR: I'm probably worried for you, if you're hearing this. And I'm sure I miss you. YASMIN: I miss you too. DOCTOR: I know you do. I hope you said I miss you too, or else that bit's weird.
DOCTOR: I'm probably worried for you, if you're hearing this. And I'm sure I miss you.
YASMIN: I miss you too.
DOCTOR: I know you do. I hope you said I miss you too, or else that bit's weird.
NAJIA: Are you two seeing each other? DOCTOR: I don't think so. Are we? YASMIN: We're friends. DOCTOR: Hmm.
NAJIA: Are you two seeing each other?
DOCTOR: I don't think so. Are we?
YASMIN: We're friends.
DOCTOR: Hmm.
CLARA: How did you know I was here? Did you see me? DOCTOR: When do I not see you? CLARA: What, one face in all of that crowd? DOCTOR: There was a crowd, too?
CLARA: How did you know I was here? Did you see me?
DOCTOR: When do I not see you?
CLARA: What, one face in all of that crowd?
DOCTOR: There was a crowd, too?
MISSY: Apparently, you think you're going to die tomorrow. DOCTOR: Well, I've got some good news about that. MISSY: Oh, yeah? DOCTOR: It's still today!
MISSY: Apparently, you think you're going to die tomorrow.
DOCTOR: Well, I've got some good news about that.
MISSY: Oh, yeah?
DOCTOR: It's still today!
“If something happens to Umbreen, your whole timeline could be erased. No Yaz! We can't have a universe with no Yaz!”
“You know what I said earlier about not being a bad date? Well, dates are not something I really do, you know. I mean, I used to. Have done. And if I was going to, believe me, it'd be with you. I think you're one of the greatest people I've ever known.”
“It's all right. It's all right, Yaz. One last trip. Where would you choose? What flavour ice cream?”
DOCTOR: You okay? YASMIN: I am now. DOCTOR: How long has it been for you two? YASMIN: A few years. DAN: We went all over the world. She was amazing. She is amazing. YASMIN: Don't go soppy on me now, Scouse. DOCTOR: I missed you. YASMIN: I missed you too. Thanks for the hologram.
DOCTOR: The human race, you're obsessed. You all need to get a hobby. CLARA: I've got a hobby, thanks. It's you, by the way.
DOCTOR: The human race, you're obsessed. You all need to get a hobby.
CLARA: I've got a hobby, thanks. It's you, by the way.
“Immortality isn't living forever. That's not what it feels like. Immortality is everybody else dying. She might meet someone she can't bear to lose. That happens, I believe.”
DOCTOR: I'm so sick of losing. CLARA: You didn't lose. You saved the town. DOCTOR: I don't mean the war. I'll lose any war you like. I'm sick of losing people.
DOCTOR: I'm so sick of losing.
CLARA: You didn't lose. You saved the town.
DOCTOR: I don't mean the war. I'll lose any war you like. I'm sick of losing people.
ANDINIO: Where will you go now? DOCTOR: No idea. Come on, fam. RYAN: I thought we weren't doing fam. YASMIN: I like it.
ANDINIO: Where will you go now?
DOCTOR: No idea. Come on, fam.
RYAN: I thought we weren't doing fam.
YASMIN: I like it.
DOCTOR: Come on, tell me you're impressed. YASMIN: Oh, you're like a kid sometimes. DOCTOR: Thanks! What, only sometimes?
DOCTOR: Come on, tell me you're impressed.
YASMIN: Oh, you're like a kid sometimes.
DOCTOR: Thanks! What, only sometimes?
DOCTOR: But the point is, if it was going to be anyone, it'd be you. But I can't. YASMIN: Why not? DOCTOR: Because at some point time always runs out.
DOCTOR: But the point is, if it was going to be anyone, it'd be you. But I can't.
YASMIN: Why not?
DOCTOR: Because at some point time always runs out.
DAN: Have you ever told her? YASMIN: Told her what? DAN: How you feel about her. YASMIN: I don't know what you mean. DAN: Yeah, you do. YASMIN: Is it that obvious? DAN: Maybe not to a good-hearted weirdo. But I've spent four years travelling the world with you. I saw it then. You didn't half cane looking at that hologram. YASMIN: I didn't. I mean, it were just that it... She's just... I don't know what to do, Dan. I've never told anyone. Not even myself.
YASMIN: What did you mean, when you said your actions were catching up with you? DOCTOR: Nothing. Nothing. I don't remember. I say lots of things. We all say lots of things we don't mean. DAN: And some we do.
YASMIN: What did you mean, when you said your actions were catching up with you?
DOCTOR: Nothing. Nothing. I don't remember. I say lots of things. We all say lots of things we don't mean.
DAN: And some we do.
DOCTOR: I'm going to find out what he's up to, and then I'll dazzle you with a beautiful bit of improvisation. YASMIN: You mean there's no plan. DOCTOR: Early days.
DOCTOR: I'm going to find out what he's up to, and then I'll dazzle you with a beautiful bit of improvisation.
YASMIN: You mean there's no plan.
DOCTOR: Early days.
DOCTOR: It doesn't matter what the Hybrid is. It only matters that I convinced them that I knew. Otherwise they'd have kicked me out, I'd have had nothing left to bargain with. CLARA: What were you bargaining for? DOCTOR: What do you think? You. I had to find a way to save you.
“So, that's the trap. Or the test, or the final judgment, I don't know. But if I kill you, I kill her. Except that implies in this big grand scheme of Gods and Devils that she's just a victim. But I've seen a lot of this universe. I've seen fake gods and bad gods and demi-gods and would-be gods, and out of all that, out of that whole pantheon, if I believe in one thing, just one thing, I believe in her.”
DOCTOR: Yaz, you go with him. YASMIN: No. I'm with you. Whatever happens.
DOCTOR: Yaz, you go with him.
YASMIN: No. I'm with you. Whatever happens.
MARY: I don't think they're really from the colonies. BYRON: No. She is from somewhere much, much stranger. POLIDORI: The north.
MARY: I don't think they're really from the colonies.
BYRON: No. She is from somewhere much, much stranger.
POLIDORI: The north.
YASMIN: Ryan, shh! (Distant sound of TARDIS materialisation getting louder. A wind blows as air is displaced.) YASMIN: Please. Please be her.
YASMIN: Ryan, shh!
(Distant sound of TARDIS materialisation getting louder. A wind blows as air is displaced.)
YASMIN: Please. Please be her.
TIME: You can leave here, but you won't outrun me. Your time is heading to its end. DOCTOR: No, it's not. You're wrong. TIME: Nothing is forever. No regeneration, no life. Beware of the forces that mass against you. And their Master. DOCTOR: What do you mean? What do you mean, their Master? TIME: I restore you, Doctor. Reunify you. But for how long?
TIME: You can leave here, but you won't outrun me. Your time is heading to its end.
DOCTOR: No, it's not. You're wrong.
TIME: Nothing is forever. No regeneration, no life. Beware of the forces that mass against you. And their Master.
DOCTOR: What do you mean? What do you mean, their Master?
TIME: I restore you, Doctor. Reunify you. But for how long?
CLARA: So, you must have thought I was dead for a while? DOCTOR: Yeah. CLARA: How was that? DOCTOR: Longest month of my life. CLARA: It could only have been five minutes. DOCTOR: I'll be the judge of time.
CLARA: So, you must have thought I was dead for a while?
DOCTOR: Yeah.
CLARA: How was that?
DOCTOR: Longest month of my life.
CLARA: It could only have been five minutes.
DOCTOR: I'll be the judge of time.
CLARA: I don't think I could ever forget you. DOCTOR: Clara, I don't think you're ever going to have to.
CLARA: I don't think I could ever forget you.
DOCTOR: Clara, I don't think you're ever going to have to.
CLARA: There has to be something I can do. DOCTOR: Smile for me. Go on, Clara Oswald, one last time. CLARA: How could I smile? DOCTOR: It's okay. Don't you worry. I'll remember it.
CLARA: There has to be something I can do.
DOCTOR: Smile for me. Go on, Clara Oswald, one last time.
CLARA: How could I smile?
DOCTOR: It's okay. Don't you worry. I'll remember it.
“We had a pact, me and him. Every star in the universe, we were going to see them all. But he was too busy burning them. I don't think she ever saw anything.”
“Listen to me. I'm gonna save my friends. I'm gonna save that universe. And I'm gonna destroy Division. So hold on to that hat, because you, me, and the end of the universe—it's personal now. And I'm gonna win.”
“That won't last, he's gay and she's an alien.”
DOCTOR: You're gonna have to trust me on this, Yaz. When have I ever let you down before? DOCTOR: I won't disappear again. YASMIN: Yeah, you will. One day, you will.
DOCTOR: You're gonna have to trust me on this, Yaz. When have I ever let you down before?
DOCTOR: I won't disappear again.
YASMIN: Yeah, you will. One day, you will.
DOCTOR: I can't change what's already happened. There are rules. CLARA: So break them. And anyway, you owe me. You've made yourself essential to me. You've given me something else to, to be. And you can't do that and then die. It's not fair. DOCTOR: Clara. CLARA: No. Doctor, I don't care about your rules or your bloody survivor's guilt. If you love me in any way, you'll come back. Doctor, are you?
DOCTOR: I can't change what's already happened. There are rules.
CLARA: So break them. And anyway, you owe me. You've made yourself essential to me. You've given me something else to, to be. And you can't do that and then die. It's not fair.
DOCTOR: Clara.
CLARA: No. Doctor, I don't care about your rules or your bloody survivor's guilt. If you love me in any way, you'll come back. Doctor, are you?
(The Doctor takes the fob watch out of her pocket, then removes a blue globe from the console and holds it over the long, long tunnel down into the workings of the TARDIS.) DOCTOR: Do me a favour. Keep this safe. Somewhere deep within this TARDIS. Somewhere I can never find it. (Drops it and replaces the globe.) DOCTOR: Unless I really ask for it.
(The Doctor takes the fob watch out of her pocket, then removes a blue globe from the console and holds it over the long, long tunnel down into the workings of the TARDIS.)
DOCTOR: Do me a favour. Keep this safe. Somewhere deep within this TARDIS. Somewhere I can never find it.
(Drops it and replaces the globe.)
DOCTOR: Unless I really ask for it.
DOCTOR: You betrayed me. Betrayed my trust, you betrayed our friendship, you betrayed everything that I've ever stood for. You let me down! CLARA: Then why are you helping me? DOCTOR: Why? Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?
DOCTOR: You betrayed me. Betrayed my trust, you betrayed our friendship, you betrayed everything that I've ever stood for. You let me down!
CLARA: Then why are you helping me?
DOCTOR: Why? Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?
BENNETT: Yeah. Yeah. Except now you're going to do something about it, aren't you? Yeah, because it's getting closer to you. You change history to save yourself but not to save O'Donnell. You wouldn't save her. DOCTOR: This isn't about saving me. I'm a dead man walking. I'm changing history to save Clara.
DOCTOR: Sorry, I don't know who you are. ROBERTSON: Oh, really? Cos you must be the only person on the planet that doesn't. DOCTOR: Are you Ed Sheeran? Is he Ed Sheeran? Everyone talks about Ed Sheeran round about now, don't they? ROBERTSON: I am not Ed Sheeran. I am Jack Robertson and this is my hotel. Just one hotel in an incredibly successful chain of hotels, which is just one small part of my business portfolio, as featured in Fortune Global 500. Does that ring a bell? DOCTOR: Should I look impressed right now? Is that impressive? GRAHAM: He's running for President in 2020. DOCTOR: Ed Sheeran?
YASMIN: Doctor. Stop for a second. I can't keep doing this with you, running from one place to the next, never explaining. DOCTOR: Sorry, no time. YASMIN: Make time.
YASMIN: Doctor. Stop for a second. I can't keep doing this with you, running from one place to the next, never explaining.
DOCTOR: Sorry, no time.
YASMIN: Make time.
YASMIN: What are you doing? DOCTOR: Checking all systems for malfunctions. Also, quick MOT check on my mind. Had a little glitch earlier. YASMIN: What sort of glitch? You didn't mention it. DOCTOR: You know what, Yaz? I don't mention everything. YASMIN: No kidding. DOCTOR: Are you being mardy? YASMIN: What sort of glitch? DOCTOR: A glitchy glitch. What does it matter? YASMIN: Because I thought we were friends. DOCTOR: We are friends. YASMIN: Then why won't you let me in? What's going on with you? DOCTOR: Nothing's going on with me. YASMIN: Don't lie. DOCTOR: Have we not had a good time together? Since Ryan and Graham left, have I not taken you to amazing places? YASMIN: Of course, but... DOCTOR: I thought I was showing you experiences of a lifetime. YASMIN: You're hiding something. About him. About why you tracked him down in the first place. Tell me.
YASMIN: What are you doing?
DOCTOR: Checking all systems for malfunctions. Also, quick MOT check on my mind. Had a little glitch earlier.
YASMIN: What sort of glitch? You didn't mention it.

YASMIN: Because I thought we were friends.
DOCTOR: We are friends.

YASMIN: Of course, but...
DOCTOR: I thought I was showing you experiences of a lifetime.
YASMIN: You're hiding something. About him. About why you tracked him down in the first place. Tell me.
DOCTOR: When does all this stop for you? The games, the betrayals, the killing? MASTER: Why would it stop? I mean, how else would I get your attention?
DOCTOR: When does all this stop for you? The games, the betrayals, the killing?
MASTER: Why would it stop? I mean, how else would I get your attention?
MISSY: I am your friend. DOCTOR: Makes no difference. MISSY: I know it doesn't. I know I'm going to die. I have to say it, the truth. Without hope. Without witness. Without reward. I am your friend.
MISSY: I am your friend.
DOCTOR: Makes no difference.
MISSY: I know it doesn't. I know I'm going to die. I have to say it, the truth. Without hope. Without witness. Without reward. I am your friend.
DOCTOR: I could always use the TARDIS to go back, arrive an hour after you guys, change the timeline. Then we'd have more time together. YASMIN: It's okay to be sad.
DOCTOR: I could always use the TARDIS to go back, arrive an hour after you guys, change the timeline. Then we'd have more time together.
YASMIN: It's okay to be sad.
“And I know if she was here now, she'd tell us not to be so sad. You see, I can hear her saying to me, Graham, we had three glorious years, what're you complaining about? I'm complaining because I wanted more.”
THIJARIANS: His time is soon. DOCTOR: How soon? Give him a day. Just give him this day, please. THIJARIANS: We are not gods. Events sit as they will. We only witness. The fixed force of Time cannot be stopped.
THIJARIANS: His time is soon.
DOCTOR: How soon? Give him a day. Just give him this day, please.
THIJARIANS: We are not gods. Events sit as they will. We only witness. The fixed force of Time cannot be stopped.
“I think you came here with a plan, but you didn't expect to fall in love. But that's what happens.”
“Becka wasn't kidding. These are hard times for women. If we're not being drowned, we're being patronised to death.”
DOCTOR: The Solitract is a frog? Who talks like Grace? SOLITRACT: My own form is endless, but this frog is a form that delights me, as it once delighted Grace.

SOLITRACT: My own form is endless, but this frog is a form that delights me, as it once delighted Grace.
DOCTOR: Come on then, you lot. Places to go. YASMIN: When you say places to go, where are you thinking? Where to next? DOCTOR: I was thinking... everywhere.

YASMIN: When you say places to go, where are you thinking? Where to next?

DOCTOR: Are you guys all right? YASMIN: Better now you're here.
DOCTOR: Are you guys all right?
YASMIN: Better now you're here.
DOCTOR: Yaz, how are you doing? Cos we've literally got the most exciting rotting bird that I've ever seen. YASMIN: I don't want you to panic, but we followed one of those things through a teleport, and now I think we're on an alien planet. DOCTOR: Well, you don't do things by halves.

“Hot-wiring a Cyberfighter. Oh, it's warp. Of course. Which makes it trickier, unless you're me, which I am, which is good, cos I used to hot-wire warp drives for fun on a weekend as a teenager. Not that we had weekends. Or teenagers. Basically, I used to do this a lot and people got mad. But now it's going to save our lives, so who was right all along and is now the real winner?”
MASTER: Look upon my work, Doctor, and despair. Remember how we used to run through those streets as children? The alleys where we'd hide from Borusa as we skipped classes? All gone now. Come on, ask me why I did this. DOCTOR: Why did you do this? MASTER: Not telling you. (laughs) Oh, crack a smile. DOCTOR: Proud of yourself? MASTER: Definitely. DOCTOR: All this death finally made you happy? MASTER: Ecstatic. DOCTOR: And has it calmed all the rage? MASTER: I don't think anything will ever do that.

DOCTOR: Whatever you want with me, fine. But save my friends. Don't let the Cybermen take them. If the history between us means anything to you... MASTER: I do believe you're appealing to my better nature. And we both know I don't have one. I'm not going to help them, and neither are you. And the history between us does mean something. It's the rage and pain in my hearts.

DOCTOR: No, no, no. Put me back, put me back. I want to go back in there. I have to get back in! YASMIN: Doctor, it's okay. DOCTOR: It's not okay! Not for me! You don't understand anything. YASMIN: All right. DOCTOR: I had a chance while it was broken.
DOCTOR: No, no, no. Put me back, put me back. I want to go back in there. I have to get back in!
YASMIN: Doctor, it's okay.

TRIANGLE: Did you repair? Can you repair? DOCTOR: I really hope so.
TRIANGLE: Did you repair? Can you repair?
DOCTOR: I really hope so.
JERICHO: How did you get in here? DOCTOR: Your door was open. JERICHO: It most certainly was not! DOCTOR: Well, it was once I opened it but let's not get bogged down in the order of things.
JERICHO: How did you get in here?
DOCTOR: Your door was open.
JERICHO: It most certainly was not!
DOCTOR: Well, it was once I opened it but let's not get bogged down in the order of things.
DAN: You okay? YASMIN: Mmm-hmm. DAN: We will see her again. She'll be all right, wherever she is.
DAN: You okay?
YASMIN: Mmm-hmm.
DAN: We will see her again. She'll be all right, wherever she is.
DOCTOR: So, this is an adaptive hologram. Right now, we're in the TARDIS, having just left the Planet Time, which should not exist. Still bugging me. I've just pulled you out of your own timestream, cos I'm good at doing stuff like that. YASMIN: All right, bighead. DOCTOR: Did you just call me bighead? BOTH: I bet you did. DOCTOR: Well, still works even if you didn't

DOCTOR: Hi. What did I miss? What am I wearing? Forced regeneration. Forced degeneration. You brought me back! Yaz, you saved my life. YASMIN: You're welcome.

YASMIN: You're welcome.
“You're not my Doctor! Because you know the greatest strength my Doctor has? She's spent her life gathering friends. She can't help it. And she is loved, because she taught us to never give up, even if someone steals your very existence.”
TESLA: That instrument detects energy? Is... is this your own design? DOCTOR: I made it! Mainly out of spoons.

DOCTOR: I made it! Mainly out of spoons.
DOCTOR: Why are you doing this? MISSY: I need you to know we're not so different. I need my friend back.
DOCTOR: Why are you doing this?
MISSY: I need you to know we're not so different. I need my friend back.
MISSY: It's a confession dial. CLARA: A what? MISSY: In your terms, a will. The Last Will and Testament of the Time Lord known as the Doctor, to be delivered, according to ancient tradition, to his closest friend, on the eve of his final day. (Clara reaches for it, and gets an electric shock.) MISSY: Ah, ah! What are you doing? CLARA: You said. I thought. MISSY: No, no, no, no, no. It was delivered to me. CLARA: You? MISSY: Well of course it was sent to me. What have you got to do with it? I'm his friend. You're just CLARA: I'm just what? MISSY: See that couple over there? (A man and a woman walk through with their dog.) MISSY: You're the puppy.

“Look after the next one. Going to take in one last sunrise.”
BECKA: Do you know why the ducking stool was invented, Doctor? To silence foolish women who talked too much. DOCTOR: Yeah, I did know that. Which is daft, cos talking's brilliant.

DOCTOR: Yeah, I did know that. Which is daft, cos talking's brilliant.
“What's the point of being alive if it's not to make others happy?”
DOCTOR: A collision between Flux and Vortex energy. You're falling through Space and Time. Yaz, stay calm. I will find you. YASMIN: Promise? DOCTOR: I promise!

SWARM: And that message in pen on the palm of your hand, that no one knows about. WWTDD. What Would The Doctor Do? YASMIN: How could you know that?

DOCTOR [OC]: I spend my life walking into new places and weighing things up fast. Who's who? Who has the power? Who's in danger? How fast danger is coming. Also, how likely my friends are to die. I've got good at figuring all of that out at speed. Right now, big danger. No obvious solutions. Well, one solution, one massive risk. You don't mess with Time. You don't put yourself and your friends in the midst of a Time Storm unless there's no alternative. John Burroughs once said to me, leap and the net will appear. He was talking metaphorically, whereas right now... (The Doctor grabs Dan and shoves him onto one Mouri pedestal, while she gets on another and activates her sonic screwdriver.)

SONYA: But you're helping me, cos this lad ain't gonna look at me if I don't know my way around a controller. I'm going to learn to be ace at this, so the next time I'm in a room with him, he's going to look at me and think, who's the sexy girl with the nimble fingers? YASMIN: No human being is ever gonna look at you and think those words. (Sonya turns into the Doctor.) YASMIN: All right, I'm super freaking out now.

CYBERMAN: Love is not a mission. Love is an emotion. Emotions are not missions. BEL: And that's why you're dead on floor, and I put you there. (shoots it again) Love is the only mission. Idiot.
CYBERMAN: Love is not a mission. Love is an emotion. Emotions are not missions.

YASMIN: Have you got family? DOCTOR: No. Lost them a long time ago. RYAN: How do you cope with that? DOCTOR: I carry them with me. What they would've thought and said and done. I make them a part of who I am. So even though they're gone from the world, they're never gone from me.

SARAH: I'm not just gonna wait for him to get killed. I don't care if he's a weirdo. And he is. He is a weirdo, you know, but he's decent. And he's got a good heart. My friend Lauren actually says that good-hearted weirdos are actually the keepers, so... (Yaz looks at the Doctor) DOCTOR: What? YASMIN: No, nothing.

YASMIN: No, nothing.
“Don’t let us lose you too, Yaz had thought, holding her friend’s hand as tightly as she could. Don’t ever let us lose you.”
‘One at a time, I think,’ said the Doctor, pausing to squeeze Yaz’s hand. ‘Don’t worry.’ ‘I’m not worried,’ said Yaz. There was something about the Doctor’s presence that made even the most drastic situation bearable.

Before he could wonder any more about it, on the other side of the room the curtain of a dressing cubicle swept back and the Doctor and Yaz emerged in each other’s arms. It took Ryan a moment to realise that they were dancing. The Doctor was leading. She was wearing a jumpsuit in a striking rust colour. ‘Nice togs,’ said Ryan admiringly. ‘I love getting dressed up for a mission,’ the Doctor said. ‘It’s by one of my favourite Zygon designers. No fiddly buttons, but the suckers do leave a mark.’ Yaz was in a long silver dress with a pattern like ripples on a moonlit pond. ‘Ready?’ asked the Doctor. ‘Dip me,’ replied Yaz. The dancers came out of a turn, the Doctor twirled Yaz, then pulled her close, wrapped one hand firmly round her waist, cradled her neck with the other and gently lowered her to the floor as Yaz hugged the Doctor’s shoulder. There was a long silence as they stayed like that for several seconds. ‘We should probably go now,’ said Yaz. ‘Yeah,’ agreed the Doctor.

Still dazed from the conversation, Yaz joined the Doctor in the console room. She was alone. Yaz saw by the rise and fall of the time-rotor that they were already underway. The Doctor wasn’t wasting a moment. There she stood over the controls, unaware of the call from Doctor Then or her future self’s instruction not to share it with Doctor Now. Yaz could feel a blush rise to her cheeks – she felt as though she was cheating on her. With her. ‘You okay?’ asked the Doctor. ‘Nothing. I mean, yes. I’m fine. How are you?’

The Doctor took Yaz’s hand and gave it a squeeze. ‘It’s the least we can do.’ Yaz leaned in and embraced the Doctor. She lingered there a moment, not wanting to let go. It was the Doctor who pulled away, waving the gadget in her hands. ‘Need to get this to Judy.’ Yaz nodded, and as the Doctor hurried out of the TARDIS she found she couldn’t take her eyes off her.

The Doctor put her hands in her coat pockets and looked down at the floor. ‘Yaz. I’m sorry that I manipulated you into going back to the TARDIS. I was afraid you would die, because you’re brave and you’re loyal and you’re willing to risk your life for others, and it would be my fault. But I also know that you are you – Yasmin Khan, who’s brilliant – and you don’t need me to make choices for you.’ She looked up and smiled a little. ‘Not even if it would mean you got to see an unexpectedly cool holographic message delivery service.’ ‘Those,’ said Yaz, taking the Doctor’s hand, ‘were good words.’ The Doctor’s smile slowly spread across her face. ‘Yeah?’

‘There’s gonna be fireworks. Ace, get back to the TARDIS.’ ‘Ace?’ Yaz felt herself frost over. ‘You want fireworks, call me by her name again—’
