I'm met with such disappointment for a show that has given me so much in the past... this episode was a mess. So much was happening, too fast, and yet nothing at all was actually happening simultaneously. It was hard to watch. Every character was flat and lacked character development... I was excited for Anita! and then all she did was hold a door open... I was excited for Belinda! but we never really got to know her, her character wasn't herself for the entire 7th episode and then she was shut in a box for most of this one... I was excited to for the Rani! and then, she just gets eaten?? and omega was defeated with such ease?... also, I didn't like this regeneration, it felt unnecessary and lacked depth and emotion... I have cried for past doctors and stories and this entire season did not deliver. I'm concerned for the future of doctor who. There was too much going on and multiple stories happening within one episode, they needed to have more than 8 episodes in this season if they really wanted to do as much as they did. Instead, a bunch of stuff happened but nothing was really explained, nothing was sat with and understood. Just everything all at once... messy.

I loved this episode and was so excited for a sequel to my favorite episode "Midnight", BUT I didn't really see any similarities in behavior that linked the alien in "The well" to the alien in the original "Midnight" besides it's shifty-ness... bummer. I was hoping to see the alien learning at some point and its evolution/process into becoming the version we see here. Still a wonderful watch but it was missing some key elements in my opinion.

I disliked this episode; it really disappointed me. Doctor Who is an escape from this world, usually, but there was no real story around aliens or time-travel… in fact, this barely felt sci-fi. The sci-fi vibes were mere undertones, in my opinion. The episode hit too real and too political–I am not against adding in real world tripe; I actually think it’s important to include… but not like this. This episode showed real evils in this actual world up front and in your face but with no positive outlook on the human race. The messages were negative and the way they portrayed UNIT made me upset. I miss the guns-are-bad messages, I miss problems being solved with cleverness and cheek and care for every being no matter what. This episode was not kind and does not reflect the show that has given me so much and that I’ve come to love with all my being… This episode was not Doctor Who.
