DOCTOR: We're the most civilised civilisation in the universe. We're billions of years beyond your petty human obsession with gender and its associated stereotypes.

BILL: But you still call yourselves Time Lords?

DOCTOR: Yeah. Shut up.

“All of time and space, everything that ever happened or ever will. Where do you want to start?”

IDRIS: Are all people like this?

DOCTOR: Like what?

IDRIS: So much bigger on the inside.

SARAH: So there's three of you?

ROSE: Three Doctors?

JACK: I can't tell you what I'm thinking right now.

DOCTOR: Why are you calling me madam?

YASMIN: Because you're a woman.

DOCTOR: Am I? Does it suit me?

YASMIN: What?

DOCTOR: Oh yeah, I remember. Sorry, half an hour ago I was a white-haired Scotsman.

“Come on, Ryan. Come on, Yaz. I'm calling you Yaz, cos we're friends now.”

DOCTOR: Yaz, I can't fix myself to anything, anywhere or anyone. I've never been able to. That's what my life is.

YASMIN: Yeah, of course.

DOCTOR: Not because I don't want to, because I might. But if I do fix myself to somebody I know, sooner or later, it'll hurt.

DOCTOR: A wise person once said to me, goodbyes only hurt because what came before was so special. Oh, and it's been so special. You, and Graham, and Ryan, and Dan. Nobody else got to be us. Nobody else got to live our days. Nobody. And my hearts are so full of love of all of you. Oh, I have loved being with you, Yaz. And I have loved being me. I think I need to do this next bit alone.

YASMIN: Let's not say goodbye.

YASMIN: We're never going to get that moment on the beach where you tell me everything that happened to you, are we?

DOCTOR: Of course we will.

JAMIE: Well it's simple isn't it? All we've got to do is dig a tunnel through from here to the borehole and catch the seed device thing on it's way down. Well, it was just an idea.

DOCTOR: But Jamie, it's a brilliant idea! It's so simple only you could have thought of it.

JAMIE: Oh. Eh?

CLAIRE: This enigmatic person of yours, would you trade them for reliable and dull?

YASMIN: My person's a bit different.

“Time And Relative Dimension In Space. TARDIS for short. You're safe in here. You're safe in here and you always will be.”

DAN: Has she said something to you?

YASMIN: Why? What would she say to me?

DAN: Oh, come on, Yaz. Can't you see it?

DOCTOR: Wow. Isn't it spectacular? What a universe. What a planet. Just when you think you've seen the lot there's something like this.

YASMIN: It's stunning.

DOCTOR: Yes, it is. Not a bad date, am I?

DOCTOR: Yaz. I'm sorry. I didn't let you in to what I was doing. Going after Karvanista. What I was looking for. I shouldn't have shut you out.

YASMIN: No. You shouldn't have.

DOCTOR: I was looking for... information... about me. A life I never knew. I want to tell you everything.

YASMIN: I'd like that.

“None of us know for sure what's out there. That's why we keep looking. Keep your faith. Travel hopefully. The universe'll surprise you... constantly.”

DOCTOR: Are you going to...?

YASMIN: Stay? Yeah, definitely.

DOCTOR: Yes!

YASMIN: I'm not ready to let you go yet.

“When I was with the Doctor, I saw more than I could have ever dreamed. And then... we lost each other. I didn't know what happened to him. If he was alive or... if I was ever going to see him again. Hard way to live. Being with the Doctor, you don't get to choose when it stops. Whether you leave her or... she leaves you.”

“How many people in the universe get to meet the Doctor, let alone travel with her? We're the lucky ones, Yaz. Enjoy the journey while you're on it. Cos the joy... is worth the pain.”

DOCTOR: I'm probably worried for you, if you're hearing this. And I'm sure I miss you.

YASMIN: I miss you too.

DOCTOR: I know you do. I hope you said I miss you too, or else that bit's weird.

NAJIA: Are you two seeing each other?

DOCTOR: I don't think so. Are we?

YASMIN: We're friends.

DOCTOR: Hmm.

MISSY: Apparently, you think you're going to die tomorrow.

DOCTOR: Well, I've got some good news about that.

MISSY: Oh, yeah?

DOCTOR: It's still today!

“If something happens to Umbreen, your whole timeline could be erased. No Yaz! We can't have a universe with no Yaz!”

“You know what I said earlier about not being a bad date? Well, dates are not something I really do, you know. I mean, I used to. Have done. And if I was going to, believe me, it'd be with you. I think you're one of the greatest people I've ever known.”

“It's all right. It's all right, Yaz. One last trip. Where would you choose? What flavour ice cream?”

DOCTOR: You okay?

YASMIN: I am now.

DOCTOR: How long has it been for you two?

YASMIN: A few years.

DAN: We went all over the world. She was amazing. She is amazing.

YASMIN: Don't go soppy on me now, Scouse.

DOCTOR: I missed you.

YASMIN: I missed you too. Thanks for the hologram.

“Immortality isn't living forever. That's not what it feels like. Immortality is everybody else dying. She might meet someone she can't bear to lose. That happens, I believe.”

SUSAN: The TARDIS can go anywhere.

BARBARA: TARDIS? I don’t understand you, Susan.

SUSAN: Well, I made up the name TARDIS from the initials, Time And Relative Dimension In Space. I thought you’d both understand when you saw the different dimensions inside from those outside.

IAN: Just let me get this straight. A thing that looks like a police box, standing in a junkyard, it can move anywhere in time and space?

SUSAN: Yes.

DOCTOR: Quite so.

IAN: But that’s ridiculous.

JAMIE: Doctor, come on, will ye? The whole place is going to blow up.

DOCTOR: Oh, it's quite all right, Jamie. The planet is quite safe. There's just going to be a localised volcanic eruption. It'll only affect the island.

JAMIE: Maybe so, but we happen to be on the island.

DOCTOR: Oh, my word!

DOCTOR: Come on, tell me you're impressed.

YASMIN: Oh, you're like a kid sometimes.

DOCTOR: Thanks! What, only sometimes?

DOCTOR: But the point is, if it was going to be anyone, it'd be you. But I can't.

YASMIN: Why not?

DOCTOR: Because at some point time always runs out.

DAN: Have you ever told her?

YASMIN: Told her what?

DAN: How you feel about her.

YASMIN: I don't know what you mean.

DAN: Yeah, you do.

YASMIN: Is it that obvious?

DAN: Maybe not to a good-hearted weirdo. But I've spent four years travelling the world with you. I saw it then. You didn't half cane looking at that hologram.

YASMIN: I didn't. I mean, it were just that it... She's just... I don't know what to do, Dan. I've never told anyone. Not even myself.

YASMIN: What did you mean, when you said your actions were catching up with you?

DOCTOR: Nothing. Nothing. I don't remember. I say lots of things. We all say lots of things we don't mean.

DAN: And some we do.

DOCTOR: I'm going to find out what he's up to, and then I'll dazzle you with a beautiful bit of improvisation.

YASMIN: You mean there's no plan.

DOCTOR: Early days.

DOCTOR: Yaz, you go with him.

YASMIN: No. I'm with you. Whatever happens.

YASMIN: Ryan, shh!

(Distant sound of TARDIS materialisation getting louder. A wind blows as air is displaced.)

YASMIN: Please. Please be her.

“We had a pact, me and him. Every star in the universe, we were going to see them all. But he was too busy burning them. I don't think she ever saw anything.”

DOCTOR: You're gonna have to trust me on this, Yaz. When have I ever let you down before?

DOCTOR: I won't disappear again.

YASMIN: Yeah, you will. One day, you will.

(The Doctor takes the fob watch out of her pocket, then removes a blue globe from the console and holds it over the long, long tunnel down into the workings of the TARDIS.)

DOCTOR: Do me a favour. Keep this safe. Somewhere deep within this TARDIS. Somewhere I can never find it.

(Drops it and replaces the globe.)

DOCTOR: Unless I really ask for it.

DOCTOR: You betrayed me. Betrayed my trust, you betrayed our friendship, you betrayed everything that I've ever stood for. You let me down!

CLARA: Then why are you helping me?

DOCTOR: Why? Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?

YASMIN: Doctor. Stop for a second. I can't keep doing this with you, running from one place to the next, never explaining.

DOCTOR: Sorry, no time.

YASMIN: Make time.

YASMIN: What are you doing?

DOCTOR: Checking all systems for malfunctions. Also, quick MOT check on my mind. Had a little glitch earlier.

YASMIN: What sort of glitch? You didn't mention it.

DOCTOR: You know what, Yaz? I don't mention everything.

YASMIN: No kidding.

DOCTOR: Are you being mardy?

YASMIN: What sort of glitch?

DOCTOR: A glitchy glitch. What does it matter?

YASMIN: Because I thought we were friends.

DOCTOR: We are friends.

YASMIN: Then why won't you let me in? What's going on with you?

DOCTOR: Nothing's going on with me.

YASMIN: Don't lie.

DOCTOR: Have we not had a good time together? Since Ryan and Graham left, have I not taken you to amazing places?

YASMIN: Of course, but...

DOCTOR: I thought I was showing you experiences of a lifetime.

YASMIN: You're hiding something. About him. About why you tracked him down in the first place. Tell me.

DOCTOR: When does all this stop for you? The games, the betrayals, the killing?

MASTER: Why would it stop? I mean, how else would I get your attention?

MISSY: I am your friend.

DOCTOR: Makes no difference.

DOCTOR: I could always use the TARDIS to go back, arrive an hour after you guys, change the timeline. Then we'd have more time together.

DOCTOR: Are you happy with us, Victoria?

VICTORIA: Yes, I am. At least, I would be if my father were here.

DOCTOR: Yes, I know, I know.

VICTORIA: I wonder what he would have thought if he could see me now.

DOCTOR: You miss him very much, don't you?

VICTORIA: It's only when I close my eyes. I can still see him standing there, before those horrible Dalek creatures came to the house. He was a very kind man, I shall never forget him. Never.

DOCTOR: No, of course you won't. But, you know, the memory of him won't always be a sad one.

VICTORIA: I think it will. You can't understand, being so ancient.

DOCTOR: Eh?

VICTORIA: I mean old.

DOCTOR: Oh.

VICTORIA: You probably can't remember your family.

DOCTOR: Oh yes, I can when I want to. And that's the point, really. I have to really want to, to bring them back in front of my eyes. The rest of the time they sleep in my mind, and I forget. And so will you. Oh yes, you will. You'll find there's so much else to think about. So remember, our lives are different to anybody else's. That's the exciting thing. There's nobody in the universe can do what we're doing. You must get some sleep and let this poor old man stay awake.

“And I know if she was here now, she'd tell us not to be so sad. You see, I can hear her saying to me, Graham, we had three glorious years, what're you complaining about? I'm complaining because I wanted more.”

“I think you came here with a plan, but you didn't expect to fall in love. But that's what happens.”

“Becka wasn't kidding. These are hard times for women. If we're not being drowned, we're being patronised to death.”

DOCTOR: Come on then, you lot. Places to go.

YASMIN: When you say places to go, where are you thinking? Where to next?

DOCTOR: I was thinking... everywhere.

DOCTOR: Are you guys all right?

YASMIN: Better now you're here.

DOCTOR: Yaz, how are you doing? Cos we've literally got the most exciting rotting bird that I've ever seen.

YASMIN: I don't want you to panic, but we followed one of those things through a teleport, and now I think we're on an alien planet.

DOCTOR: Well, you don't do things by halves.

MASTER: Look upon my work, Doctor, and despair. Remember how we used to run through those streets as children? The alleys where we'd hide from Borusa as we skipped classes? All gone now. Come on, ask me why I did this.

DOCTOR: Why did you do this?

MASTER: Not telling you. (laughs) Oh, crack a smile.

DOCTOR: Proud of yourself?

MASTER: Definitely.

DOCTOR: All this death finally made you happy?

MASTER: Ecstatic.

DOCTOR: And has it calmed all the rage?

MASTER: I don't think anything will ever do that.

“I wish it wasn't true, but it is. You know what I find the most infuriating? You always behaved like you were different, like you were... like you were special. And you were. You can see... you can see why I'm angry. A little piece of you is in me. All I am is somehow because of you, and believe me when I say, I cannot bear that.”

DOCTOR: Whatever you want with me, fine. But save my friends. Don't let the Cybermen take them. If the history between us means anything to you...

MASTER: I do believe you're appealing to my better nature. And we both know I don't have one. I'm not going to help them, and neither are you. And the history between us does mean something. It's the rage and pain in my hearts.

DOCTOR: No, no, no. Put me back, put me back. I want to go back in there. I have to get back in!

YASMIN: Doctor, it's okay.

DOCTOR: It's not okay! Not for me! You don't understand anything.

YASMIN: All right.

DOCTOR: I had a chance while it was broken.

TRIANGLE: Did you repair? Can you repair?

DOCTOR: I really hope so.

JERICHO: How did you get in here?

DOCTOR: Your door was open.

JERICHO: It most certainly was not!

DOCTOR: Well, it was once I opened it but let's not get bogged down in the order of things.

DAN: You okay?

YASMIN: Mmm-hmm.

DAN: We will see her again. She'll be all right, wherever she is.

DOCTOR: So, this is an adaptive hologram. Right now, we're in the TARDIS, having just left the Planet Time, which should not exist. Still bugging me. I've just pulled you out of your own timestream, cos I'm good at doing stuff like that.

YASMIN: All right, bighead.

DOCTOR: Did you just call me bighead?

BOTH: I bet you did.

DOCTOR: Well, still works even if you didn't

DOCTOR: Hi. What did I miss? What am I wearing? Forced regeneration. Forced degeneration. You brought me back! Yaz, you saved my life.

YASMIN: You're welcome.

“You're not my Doctor! Because you know the greatest strength my Doctor has? She's spent her life gathering friends. She can't help it. And she is loved, because she taught us to never give up, even if someone steals your very existence.”

DOCTOR: I've been alone ever since. But not anymore. Don't you see? All we've got is each other.

MASTER: Are you asking me out on a date?

DOCTOR: I'm here.

MASTER: Doctor.

DOCTOR: Master.

MASTER: I like it when you use my name.

MASTER: Dying in your arms. Happy now?

DOCTOR: You're not dying. Don't be stupid. It's only a bullet. Just regenerate.

MASTER: No.

DOCTOR: One little bullet. Come on.

MASTER: I guess you don't know me so well. I refuse.

DOCTOR: Regenerate. Just regenerate. Please. Please! Just regenerate. Come on.

MASTER: And spend the rest of my life imprisoned with you?

DOCTOR: You've got to. Come on. It can't end like this. You and me, all the things we've done. Axons. Remember the Axons? And the Daleks. We're the only two left. There's no one else. Regenerate!

MASTER: How about that. I win. Will it stop, Doctor? The drumming. Will it stop?

MISSY: (as Maggie Smith) I am in charge.

DOCTOR: Well, who's in charge of you?

MISSY: I'm in charge of me.

DOCTOR: Well, who repairs you? Who, who maintains you?

MISSY: I am programmed for self-repair. I am maintained by my heart.

(Missy takes the Doctor's hand and places it on her bosom.)

MISSY: Is everything in order?

DOCTOR: Who maintains your heart?

MISSY: My heart is maintained by the Doctor.

DOCTOR: Why are you doing this?

MISSY: I need you to know we're not so different. I need my friend back.

CLARA: Since when do you care about the Doctor?

MISSY: Since always. Since the Cloister Wars. Since the night he stole the moon and the President's wife. Since he was a little girl. One of those was a lie. Can you guess which one?

CLARA: He's not your friend. You keep trying to kill him.

MISSY: He keeps trying to kill me. It's sort of our texting. We've been at it for ages.

CLARA: Mmm. Must be love.

MISSY: Oh, don't be disgusting. We're Time Lords, not animals. Try, nano-brain, to rise above the reproductive frenzy of your noisy little food chain, and contemplate friendship. A friendship older than your civilisation, and infinitely more complex.

MISSY: In your terms, a will. The Last Will and Testament of the Time Lord known as the Doctor, to be delivered, according to ancient tradition, to his closest friend, on the eve of his final day.

(Clara reaches for it, and gets an electric shock.)

CLARA: You?

MISSY: Well of course it was sent to me. What have you got to do with it? I'm his friend. You're just

CLARA: I'm just what?

MISSY: See that couple over there?

(A man and a woman walk through with their dog.)

MISSY: You're the puppy.

CLARA: How can you and the Doctor be friends?

MISSY: Why shouldn't we be?

CLARA: You spend all your time fighting.

MISSY: Exactly.

MASTER: Missy? Seriously, why?

MISSY: Oh, because he's right. Because it's time to stand with him. It's where we've always been going, and it's happening now, today. It's time to stand with the Doctor.

MASTER: No. Never. Missy! I will never stand with the Doctor!

MISSY: Yes, my dear, you will.

DOCTOR: Missy. Missy. You've changed. I know you have. And I know what you're capable of. Stand with me. It's all I've ever wanted.

MISSY: Me too. But no. Sorry. Just, no. (she takes his hand) But thanks for trying.

DOCTOR: Yes, it all started out as a mild curiosity in a junkyard, and now it's turned out to be quite a, quite a great spirit of adventure, don't you think?

IAN: Yes. We've had some pretty rough times and even that doesn't stop us. It's a wonderful thing, this ship of yours, Doctor. Taken us back to prehistoric times, the Daleks.

SUSAN: Marco Polo, Marinus.

BARBARA: And the Aztecs.

“Look after the next one. Going to take in one last sunrise.”

“Why did I choose continuing existence? Listening to him being right all the time, when I had the option of a slow, painful death.”

MASTER: Ah, you remind me of all the others. Horrifyingly.

ALISON: What's that supposed to mean? Who are you anyway?

MASTER: I am the Master.

(A lift bell dings and the Doctor enters the console room.)

MASTER: And you will,

(The Doctor suddenly appears.)

DOCTOR: Evening.

MASTER: Come to like me, when you get to know me, my dear Miss Cheney.

“What's the point of being alive if it's not to make others happy?”

DOCTOR: A collision between Flux and Vortex energy. You're falling through Space and Time. Yaz, stay calm. I will find you.

YASMIN: Promise?

DOCTOR: I promise!

SWARM: And that message in pen on the palm of your hand, that no one knows about. WWTDD. What Would The Doctor Do?

YASMIN: How could you know that?

DOCTOR [OC]: I spend my life walking into new places and weighing things up fast. Who's who? Who has the power? Who's in danger? How fast danger is coming. Also, how likely my friends are to die. I've got good at figuring all of that out at speed. Right now, big danger. No obvious solutions. Well, one solution, one massive risk. You don't mess with Time. You don't put yourself and your friends in the midst of a Time Storm unless there's no alternative. John Burroughs once said to me, leap and the net will appear. He was talking metaphorically, whereas right now...

(The Doctor grabs Dan and shoves him onto one Mouri pedestal, while she gets on another and activates her sonic screwdriver.)

SONYA: But you're helping me, cos this lad ain't gonna look at me if I don't know my way around a controller. I'm going to learn to be ace at this, so the next time I'm in a room with him, he's going to look at me and think, who's the sexy girl with the nimble fingers?

YASMIN: No human being is ever gonna look at you and think those words.

(Sonya turns into the Doctor.)

YASMIN: All right, I'm super freaking out now.

YASMIN: Have you got family?

DOCTOR: No. Lost them a long time ago.

RYAN: How do you cope with that?

DOCTOR: I carry them with me. What they would've thought and said and done. I make them a part of who I am. So even though they're gone from the world, they're never gone from me.

SARAH: I'm not just gonna wait for him to get killed. I don't care if he's a weirdo. And he is. He is a weirdo, you know, but he's decent. And he's got a good heart. My friend Lauren actually says that good-hearted weirdos are actually the keepers, so...

(Yaz looks at the Doctor)

DOCTOR: What?

YASMIN: No, nothing.

(They can see Victoria on the scanner.)

JAMIE: We can't just leave her.

DOCTOR: We are not leaving her, Jamie. It was her decision to stay. She'll be quite all right with the Harrises. Now don't worry so much, Jamie.

JAMIE: I'm not, I'm just. Och, come on, let's go.

DOCTOR: Well, where would you like to go?

JAMIE: I couldn't care less.

DOCTOR: I was fond of her too, you know, Jamie.

CORWYN: Thank you. And your friend?

JAMIE: Er, the Doctor

JAMIE: Er. John Smith.

CORWYN: Really?

(Corwyn sees that her medical equipment was manufactured by John Smith and Associates.)

DOCTOR: Goodbye, Jamie.

DOCTOR: I won't forget you. Don't go blundering into too much trouble, will you?

JAMIE: Oh, you're a fine one to talk.
