This story feels like two distinct stories. On one hand it's great to have more insight on that version of the master's motivations and why he turned out like that, but the story only really picks up once therapy starts, which offers amazing character dynamics, especially by giving the master genuine friendships, which he never had before. It still could help being better paced, and maybe separated in two distinct stories. Dhawan's french accent is a lot to handle, and the plot as a couple of turns and twist that are maybe not genuine murder mystery material, but are entertaining enough on top of Dhawan's performance. His taking advantage of people's assumption also makes for great scenes and a very enjoyable time Verloonati View profile Like Liked 0 12 April 2025 · 67 words Call Me Master: Inner Demons • Episode 3The Good Life Verloonati Review of The Good Life by Verloonati 12 April 2025 The good life is not a bad story and gives a lot of context on Dhawan's master, it has some really good concepts and character dynamics, it sometimes fall into the sterotypical, and can be very reminiscent of the first war master boxset but to its benefit. The master's machination are very enjoyable and there's great worldbuilding going on, although it could help having a better pace. Installs the ambience for the upcoming episode Lux pretty well tho. The Robot Revolution is a story that succeeds way more at being a companion introduction than an episode in his own right. If Belinda's introduction makes her already a very rounded character, with depicting however briefly her work and home life, and by putting her at odds with the doctor makes for a great dynamic, the same can't be said for the plot proper. There's a lot of good ideas, and the retrofuturistic aesthetic looks really good, making really cartoonish designs come to life and really pop, with very good vfx, especially concerning the weapons and the time fracture scene, it is in service of a story that doesn't take the time it needs. Side characters are barely introduced before being disposed or sidelined. It makes their fate lack impact. The whole story taking the time to establish the (well executed) bootstrap paradox of it all leaves the actual struggles of the missbelindachandrakind an aftertought of the episode which is a complete shame. Same goes for the reveal that feels somewhat preachy and that could have been executed better if done a little more subtly and by trusting the audience a little more to get the message without insisting upon it and getting the time to explore the episode's villain a little more.
