McTighe has redeemed himself! (tbh I did like Praxeus but Kerblam mama…) However, that being said I need the straight workplace romance with Kate to end!!! I really liked going back to Ruby and the UNIT lot for this bottle episode, super tense and well done. Pacing was fab too! My main issue with this story is that set photos when they filmed out in public spoiled the monsters being Conrad’s friends, which is the major twist of the episode. So from that aspect it felt a little predictable. It doesn't help that I did this in two sittings, parts 1+2 then 3+5, however I don't think it would've helped much in any case. Being out of order didn't work for me, and it made me disconnected from the plot and characters. Unfortunately not a hit for me. Jamie View profile Like Liked 0 28 April 2025 · 55 words P.R.O.B.E. Case Files • Episode 30Deadwood Jamie 3 Review of Deadwood by Jamie 28 April 2025 I actually enjoyed this. Having more than just Giles talking to the camera goes a long way, and having other characters is a move in the right direction. Gemma was alright, and the plot was intriguing. I really do love when shows tap in to the Roanoke mystery so it was right up my street. That being said, every other part was sheer perfection. I had no idea where they were going with Sally but this aspect of the story really moved me. I am loving getting to know Evelyn more, and this was a great story with lots of heartache for her. The story itself balances the humour nicely, with so many great camp moments and the SINGING!!!! Just phenomenal. Jamie View profile Like Liked 0 26 April 2025 · 136 words Doctor Who Season Two • Episode 3The Well Jamie 11 Review of The Well by Jamie 26 April 2025 Another banger!! This season is shaping up super well. I really enjoyed the tension, the atmosphere and the side characters especially Shaya and Aliss. Really another great directed episode too, the same director who did Lux! I hope she'll return in the future. The Mrs Flood cameo was certainly interesting, as I think its clear she's involved in what's going on with Earth! She looked fantastic too!! I can't lie though, while I enjoyed this a lot, the leak that the Midnight creature would return massively soured the reveal for me. I just spent the whole ep waiting for it, and was like 'oh sure okay' when it happened. Don't get me wrong, the reveal was good, but it didn't hit as much as it would've had I not known. Also did we need the flashback? The voice actor for Slyde was super irritating though, really grating in parts. Nice to hear more of Benny, 7 and Ace together !! The story in itself was okay but felt like it dragged on a bit too much, and just was rather generic. That said, it is still really terrible. Utterly boring, gore for the sake of gore, just unpleasant. I had high expectations, because I've heard so much praise for this over the years and it was adapted into one of my fave stories Dalek. Surprisingly, it exceed my expectations. Despite its length, it doesn't feel long. The social commentary is really powerful, and very relevant now more than ever. Evelyn and Six had some phenomenal scenes in this, between themselves and apart with the guest cast. Somehow the supporting characters in this compared to Dalek are even worse. Absolutely harrowing in parts, and downright bleak. Jamie View profile Like Liked 3 24 April 2025 · 86 words Main Range • Episode 39Bang-Bang-a-Boom! Jamie 2 Review of Bang-Bang-a-Boom! by Jamie 24 April 2025 This ticked every box for me. Camp? Eurovision parody? Politics? Comedy? Murder Mystery? Mel? Oh I ate up every second of this story. The camp music, the camp Nick Briggs recaps at the start, the music stings every time someone was murdered? I did guess the murderer towards the end, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment at all. So many memorable guest characters from this, and as always with a murder mystery there are plenty of reveals that have nothing to do with the murders! Superb! This was a really fun pure historical, it flew by honestly the pacing felt great. Nicola Bryant having the double role worked really well as she can finally use her normal accent. I really like Erimem really instantly, she's so likeable and has a lovely dynamic with Five and Peri. The story itself was engaging, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
