Great blend of creepy and suspension. I love the Not-Things. They are creepy with the body horror and they are great when they are separated by the glass from the real 14th Doctor and Donna. The way they stress out the Doctor and the Doctor and Donna not trying to think but he knows what is going on is brilliant. The ending is amazing with the surprise Wilf and everyone going mad and plane crashing down and ground cracking with fire. It was a good start to the specials and the villain was amazing. Loved the Doctor and Donna. They have a nice back and forth and the comedy is just right. Her family is great too. Rose is an interesting character and can’t wait to see more of her. Beep the Meep is cute and took me by surprise when he’s revealed as the villain. The scene when the Doctor has to make a choice between opening up the memories in Donna which will kill her or not was powerful. You could feel the emotion and when he did do it and Donna getting angry at him was great. The ending was good and I love the cliffhanger. The TARDIS was amazing. I don’t understand why people love this episode a lot. For me it’s good but not amazing. Ncuti gives a great performance when Ruby gets shot and I was not expecting that at all. I like the interactions between Mundy and the 15th Doctor especially after realizing that he was just checking out the area. The child character is okay and I like how the story ended. The speech that the 15th Doctor gives about death at the end is good. This is one of the strongest episodes of the season. The setting and the characters are very well developed. Lindy is annoying at first but she grew on me as the episode progressed. The subtle hints at racism is well executed and I wasn’t expecting the ending. It wasn’t entirely obvious when I watched it but after hearing other people’s opinions I definitely notice it. Once you go back and watch the episode there's subtle clues that hint at racism like Lindy swiping the Doctor away but doesn't do it with Ruby. Nucti's performance at the end was amazing. It had lots of emotion tied to it. Ricky September is a great character and I wasn't that surprised when Lindy ratted him out to the Dot but it was still a great moment. I really enjoyed the plot of music disappearing and it was set up well. Maestro sets theirselves up as a great villain when we first meet them and it continues through the rest of the episode. They’re creepy and enjoyable. The music battle scene was brilliant. I love that Maestro is the child of the Toymaker. We already knew that his influence would be around in this series. The series arc is laid out with them. The Doctor being scared of them is great. We never see that happen but I like that he’s able to overcome it. Ruby is great in here as well. There is no major critique before the ending. The plot was okay and the Bogeyman was good. Joselyn is a good character. For me it's the worst episode of season 1. It’s a great dark story and as someone who’s not familiar with classic who its rather enjoyable and the 5th Doctor is pushed to his limits. The side characters are great and it’s sad seeing some of them die. A few are a bit weird like the 10th Doctor one but it’s a decent book otherwise ImpossibleGirl View profile Like Liked 3 Sorting, filtering, and pagination, coming soon!
