This is part of a series of reviews of Doctor Who in chronological timeline order. Previous Story: The Bridge Master This one's probably my favourite of the anthology so far. It uses it's time effectively and actually feels like a full story. It's a fairly simple premise that works as an excellent backdrop to explore the characters. Mary Wade stands out in particular, instantly feeling like a lifelong companion of the Doctor's. I enjoy the trope of the Doctor letting his companions negotiate with aliens, rather than himself, even if it fairly overdone. It's just a fun little story that wastes no time and, if I understood it correctly, gives a sci-fi explanation for why deep-sea creatures look so, well, alien.
