Honestly the highlight of the story was the pre credits sequence. It was just very funny to listen to the Doctor travel from one location to another finding dictators, villains and armies to thwart only for them to immediately surrender cos he's the Doctor, which makes him more and more frustrated to the point where he's overjoyed at finally being kidnapped. The title and the overall them of the story is based on the Doctor neglecting his presidential duties and trying to recapture the good old days. But the story itself spirals into a surprisingly dark ordeal around this planet and it's original inhabitants where the Doctor showcases a much more aggressive side towards the end. It's mostly standard and not nearly as entertaining as the pre credits sequence but still a great penultimate story

quite a lot of comedy in this one despite the dark nature of what really happened to the planet, which was almost brushed over at the end. really great stuff with the warner doctor yet again i absolutely love him, and a solid cliffhanger!

Thworping through time and space, one adventure at a time!

“Truant: A Doctor on the Run, but My Interest Stayed Behind"

In Truant, Benny embarks on a mission to track down the Unbound Doctor, who has ditched his duties as President of the Universe in favor of a carefree adventure. While the premise holds potential, the story itself feels a bit aimless, failing to deliver a plot compelling enough to fully engage. Things happen, the performances are solid, and there's a fair mix of action and humor, but ultimately, it left me uninvested.
