Previous Story: Children of the Revolution

Easily the best so far. Instead of trying to pack a whole story into 30 minutes it's essentially a character piece for the Doctor and Peri instead. 6 and Peri's dynamic is at it's best here. It's also very atmospheric, we're on a completely snowed over planet that's slowly melting and the soundscape for that is phenomenal. We also finally meet the quin Ervis whose been referenced over and over throughout the set and honestly I'm a bit disappointed. I thought they'd do something a bit more interesting with the whole "everybody hates him" and have him actually be the only nice, well-rounded quin but they went with the boring option. Good story though, overall.

This episode is very special to me. Despite the Quin Dilemma's structure in my opinion sort of being a weakness for this boxset, this particular part manages to take advantage of the shorter section by giving a really powerful close look at the relationship between 6 and Peri. It's emotional, it's hopeful, it's tragic, it's everything you could want from a story that takes a proper examination of the 6/Peri dynamic and how it's grown over time. I will cherish this episode for many years to come<3
