The Monsters of Gurnian - 5/10

This story is once again with Andy and Mary, they find themselves in a sticky situation on the planet Gurnian after being captured by the Daleks and thrown into the wilderness.

The whole plot of this short story revolves around the 'Horrorkons' which appear to be native dinosaur like creatures to Gurnian. The Daleks have set up some sort of base of operations on the planet and are controlling these creatures using 'Marsh Daleks' which have a rather interesting design that I have personally never seen before.

Andy and Mary are captured in a Dalek beam which then quickly develops into the Daleks wanting to feed the two humans to the Horrorkons, this ends up with Andy and Mary outside.

This is where the story comes to a quick conclusion as the pair discover the Horrorkons have a hatred for metal thanks to the oppression of the Daleks and the pair then use this to their advantage and lead the creatures to attack the Dalek base from behind. They then make their swift escape saying they'll send the 'Space Army' to deal with any excess Daleks.

Overall this short story is quite interesting and provides some cool concepts in the form of marsh Daleks and the Horrorkons which have both failed to make it to the main show unfortunately, although I do think it would be interesting to have different Daleks for different environments to circumvent the issue of terrain that has plagued the Daleks for so long.

Again another fun little with the daleks Andy and Mary I do wonder where these take place in the dalek timeline
