I had kind of a weird reaction to this one. Best I can assess, I think that to me it didn't feel like a Doctor Who story. Which is weird - it has the Doctor, Jo, the UNIT gang, aliens...and really, there are elements that fit the UNIT years perfectly.
So, why doesn't it feel like a Doctor Who story? I'm not sure. Maybe it's the aspect of (apparently) shifting loyalties, or maybe it's the Doctor and Jo going on the run. Possibly it's that the aliens, with their weird heads and all, are pretty close to superfluous to the story. You could just about skip them and make the plot device some human-invented technology. In any case, it feels more like something out of the Lethbridge-Stewart line than something out of the Pertwee years of Doctor Who. It also put me in mind of Three Days of the Condor a little bit.
But is this a good thing or a bad thing. I wouldn't classify it as either, but it did keep me interested, and for a release over three hours in length, that's not a small accomplishment.

I'm conflicted on this one. I ended up liking this one a lot more than I expected to, but I'm genuinely not sure why. There are a lot of things in this story that usually bore me out of interest.
B. Maybe C.

Starting with the unveiling of a new gas weapon we then meet an alien race - the Mega- is this the darkest time for Earth and the Doctor?

This starts already in progress, the Doctor and Jo on their way to see the demonstration of the gas. Things build up as we meet the mega - an all powerful force, the Doctor seemly switching sides and whisked away overseas by Prince Cassie, not to mention the death of the prime minster!

The narrative is split between The Doctor and Jo, the prince and mega on one side and the Brig and co on the other.

Its an epic story, with some great ideas. The mega themselves: though they are the enemy, here they are kind of in the background.

Its narrated by both Katy and Richard. Richard’s voices for the Brig and Benton are not particularly close and took me a little time to realise who the characters were.

It has a certain feeling of sadness? somberness? to it, its not the right word but I’m struggling to define it. Just kind of downbeat.

My hearing isn’t the best but I found it hard to make out what was being said a number of times. The voices just too quiet and the background noise/music too loud.

30-35 minute episodes and 6 of them som its quite long.

It seemes well thought of by some, but I just didn’t care much for it.
