Innocents is also written by Marc Platt continuing his story in short story form. This story is with Leonardo, an important character in history being a companion. Its a very interesting topic leading to a lot of hijinks for example, The Doctor travelled back in time with him to save some children from King Herald which leads to the funniest thing, A Donkey in the Tardis! The Doctor being care free feels a lot like The Monk, being quite a liability with his words and actions across time. In new who terms this trilogy feels very time lord victorious esc, with The Doctor taking lives and time into his hands. The Tardis lands in the 1960s and becomes a Christmas tree, this leads into Susan and Leonardo going to the shopping centre. On there way he starts sketching modern day tech in his notebook with Susan trying to hurry him along. Marc Platt writes Leonardo as a kid in a sweet shop, it’s adorable even thinking the shopping centre is a church cause of the Christmas carols. This story just works it’s a really fun comedy. The what if The Doctor took a historical figure as a companion, with him seeing his own work in a gallery, which leads to him finding out his death date. It’s quite sad but also real and ends with an uplifting note with a fun little run around ending as the doctor Susan and Leonardo continue to travel. On its own this story is really strong and works well in the trilogy, I'm glad Mark Platt wrote all 3 stories so he knows where to take the stories and where to make it real n fun. Like Liked 1
