This review contains spoilers!

More a teaser trailer than anything, listing the different groups you can expect to see from the event and how they fit in.

I do like the details they retcon in here though about how the other peoples we know of from the dark times fit in here, how the daemons fought, the eternals fled, the racnoss hid, and Sutekh and The Great Vampires made a deal.

There's that thing you get in a lot of stories where to show off how big and strong a new threat is, you have them come in and easily beat up the old threat, and that's basically what this is, but with some fun worldbuilding. I always love it when the whoniverse deals with death as a concept and I think it works well here

📝6/10 = FINE!

Time Lording through time and space, one victory at a time! This time: who’s who in Who!

This little story in the Doctor Who 2021 Annual is written like a news article by River Song. It fleshes out the main players of the TLV event—the Kotturuh and races who have come into contact with them, such as the Racnoss, the Osirians, the Eternals, the Dæmons, and the Time Lords. It's well-written and a good help to get a grip on the overall story arc, but it’s not essential.

This starts out as a newspaper reporting on the Kottururh crisis. Mentioning the Doctor and Daleks - so its set it during the TLV novels. River Song picks up the story as editor, and expands on the Kotturuh.

As with the ‘Dawn of the Kotturuh’ short story, this is a bit of scene setting. Its not really telling you anything you won’t find elsewhere. Though there is a bit about the Kotturuh which describes them better than I’ve seen elsewhere, and has a nice illustration.

Its followed by a who’s who of the Dark Times, and mentions various races from the Doctor Who universe and those involved with the TLV series, including Brian the Ood.

I didn’t buy this at the time, and as I just wanted to read the Time Lord Victorious bit, I found it online.

You're not missing much if you’ve not read it, but a nice addition to the series though.
