Previous Story: The Macros

A very solid entry in the Lost Stories range. It's still era authentic, but manages to feel like modern Big Finish (something the first series struggled with, prioritizing era authenticity to it's own detriment). I like that this is a sort-of sequel to The Keeper of Traken. It captures a lot of the same vibes and the planet Serenity would be easy to mistake for Traken.

There's a very strong cast of characters here, all very memorable and well performed. The master thief, Ebbko, was definitely a highlight for me. Malador was also a great villain, he strongly reminded me of Omega which is no coincidence considering he is voiced by none other than Stephen Thorne himself.

Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant get some great material here and both are very lively and entertaining to listen to, a contrast to their oddly characterised and often annoying personalities in the first series of lost stories. I hope the next few keep up this level of quality. It really is a shame that this never made it to TV as I would have loved to see it.
