This story was truly excellent. Tim Foley keeps bringing to the Uncharted series great additions to the lore, from the return of the Sinsa (or rather her first chronological appearance) to a deeper understanding of the First Forest and the Uncharted lands of the first Timelords. The reveal that the TARDIS exterior was the source for all the timey-wimey doors that we see in the forest and the one in the Kalanos was really fantastic (although I remember drawing a connection to that when I first listened to The Road Untravelled purely for the color of the door) The timelord shipwright (who is actually neither of those) was a great character too, plus the idea of traversing the forest and encountering the same hut in different moments in time was ingenious. Then we get the reconciliation between Alex and the Doctor, fueled primarily for their desire to find Cass once again, who isn't really dead nor is the voice of the forest (which I really liked too, as I love voice-overs in audio, they help me pay more attention) The third act was gripping, as Friend warns the Sontaran army of the location of the Doctor in order to fulfill her role for the Codicil, which we now know is to get rid (or control) of the Doctor so the Time War will continue indefinitely and the Council of the Last can keep reaping the benefits of their activities. The army burns down the forest as it always happens (although who causes the fire differs from timeline to timeline) and the Doctor gets the TARDIS back basically with magic from the shipwright who was actually a Folk of the forest. They end this box set announcing that they will have to go to the other end of the temporal pole to find Cass. So if they are in the First Forest and basically the first instances of the cosmos that would probably mean the end of the universe, which I mean the Doctor has been there done that, but we'll see how it goes. I don't normally write this much, I got carried away as the Uncharted series is becoming one of my favourites, not just in audio. It is just full of innovative and out of the box ideas and concepts, the wait for the next one will be long indeed. I feel like this set in general was rather filler. The ending was very similar to what we've had before, we're searching for Cass again. I think the story has some good elements, although I think perhaps it was maybe a tad too long. If Uncharted 3 really is the final set, then I feel there's too much to happen in that set, I really think this set should've ended with the trio together. We get yet more teases about Friend, but I'd hoped for more than that. We shall see what happens, but overall not as good as Uncharted 1 for me.
