KATY: A bit portentous for a clown. But then, you’re not really a clown, are you?

DOCTOR: Why do you say that?

KATY: Firstly, what sort of clown name is Doctor? Secondly, you’re not in the programme.

DOCTOR: Well, some of the parents took one look at my clothes, made assumptions. They evidently don’t recognise haut couture from Kolpasha in this cultural backwater.

KATY: You could have told them.

DOCTOR: I couldn’t disappoint the children.

DOCTOR: Let that be a lesson, boys and girls. Water balloons must be handled with care. Now, how many can I juggle all at once? Come on, have a guess. How many?

BOY: One.

DOCTOR: One? Four, five? Oh, easy. I have seven water balloons here. Let’s start with these and see how far we can get. Drum roll please. Here we go. Two. Three. Four. And five. Whoops. Oh ho, six. And sev (splash) Oh. Back to six. (splash) Oh, sorry, five. (splash) Make that four.

(Splash, children cheer. Splash.)

DOCTOR: Now then, who said one? Ah yes, you, sir. What’s your name?

BOY: Gary.

DOCTOR: Gary? A round of applause for Gary.

(Cheers and clapping.)

DOCTOR: And give yourselves a round of applause too. I’ve been the Doctor, and you’ve been very patient. Now, I think I saw the ice cream van.

(Cheers and running away.)

DOCTOR: Choc ices, lollipops, 99s. And for me, a towel.
