The Angel of History not only concludes The Story So Far sets but in a way it also marks the end of the original Bernice Summerfield series, Big Finish's first audio series and 20 years later it comes to an end in a story that rather than being an extravagant affair instead goes for a very sombre tale where Benny experiences the life of a professor from a marginalised group of people and how she struggles every day with how the oppressors treat her, mostly in passive aggressive ways but it's permeated throughout the story. It's not a pleasant listen and has such a downer ending, but it's carried beautifully by Lisa Bowerman's performance and David Warner as the Doctor providing some form of comfort every so often, including a wonderful speech at the very end.
